Is there a date for the release of the song anyone? I'm very curious as it looks really promising xup

I felt the same, I was like *yawn a sleepy jazzy singer* , but the band she's singing with gives me some hope. I hope the emphasize will be on the ethno rather than the jazzy, jazz is really hit-or-miss, there are times it can be good, but many times it's either too sleepy and boring and pretentious or simply too hysteric (not the good type of hysteric).

Re: GEORGIA 2014

I think he's not the only one who still expect ethno-songs every year. xheya

I'm so happy for Sakartvelo's decision. I've been waiting so long in this 4 boring years for a true folk song again (2010 only had 1, Kuunkuiskaajat)
I don't care if the song is jazz, pop (I would be pleased with another "Visionary Dream"), rock or even opera. With The Shin, we'll have fusion for sure!

Thank you!

People are like "oh you only want ethno!", but have they even checked the fact that there's almost nothing ethno-ish represented in ESC any longer? xshrug

Sign me in, i'm one of these people who expect ethno every year ;)
Let's face it, where else can we get ethno-music except for our own reserach and Eurovision?
Not gonna hear that at Grammy's or EMA.

E you see now! ;) You want from Germany modern sound which can attract the most ppl to vote and from other countries you want ethno, that's just not a fair thing in a festival where all countries should have equal treatment! ;)

I don't really care that much about what Germany sends tbh, but if Germany had nice ethno pop, I'd definitely want them to send something like that, it's just... that they don't (I feel like Germany has no culture xD)

And I want the voters to vote for good ethno songs!

I am getting my hopes up; may I will like the georgian entry 2014? Georgia has never reached my personal top 10. Normalle they are quite far from it... I really think Georgia has gotten a lot of good placings that I personally didnt agree on.
But this year it seems like Georgia might send something really different. I am hoping for some good fusion; a fresh sound with definite ethno inspiration in the arrangement and in the instrumentation. But hopefulle nothing too jazzy...(I just cant take that modern jazz, even fusion).
Georgia; give us something to vote for!!!

I understand you, Alister.
As I said, IMO the last true ethno song which was sent was "Työlki ellää" (I don't consider "I'm a Joker" as one...)
After that, countries decided to americanize themselves. They forgot to show us who they really are

I'm sorry if I get mad with the Ethno-thing. In Latin America we don't have "Latino-vision" or "Melodifestivalen". The closer one is "Viña del Mar" which is a combination of a pseudo National Final (PseudoNF because Chile always win) plus a boring Grammy's day.
Also, in Perú we don't have Kalomiras or Sirushos. The only one who made that step was Damaris with "Tusuy Kusun" and she won Viña del Mar in 2008.
In that moment with that song, I think that we (peruvians) felt more proud of ourselves and our true roots. Sadly, that colective and beautiful feeling just lasted one year.
As people says: "What easy comes, easy goes" :(

Well! That's my story. Sorry for the spam and I'm gonna leave this thread before I get banned. :v

Yipeeeeee Jazz and Ethnoxheat

I think the chances of me loving a Georgian entry for once are very high. Plus Mariko seems to be quite an experimental jazz singer like Rona Nishliu. I reckon this is going to be really interesting..

And thank goodness Georgia are not in the same semi final as San Marino. If Valentina does jazz this year (fingers crossed she will) they would have canceled each other out.
