It's definitely the best Swedish song since my debut last May ! :D

Well, nice to hear that you liked it :) Thanks :)

As for being the best in a year, it's a matter of taste, all songs I sent are good to me so it's hard for me to rank, it depends on my mood :)

Hey A-lister, congratulations on your win again! ;)

I must say I really admire you staying true to your music taste through-out the competition and showing a different side of Swedish music that we don't get to see very often. As a big lover of indie pop, I've really enjoyed some of your entries. And you are right with what you said, I think the fun of taking part and getting to introduce different music of your country is the best part of FSC. Wanting to do well is understandable, but I feel like the worth of someone discovering a song that they really love through this or that means something to them overshadows that in the end, even if the majority doesn't exactly agree every time (it's also why I applaud not always taking the popular route, even though it's nice every once in a while to get a lot of points of course :D). Most of all I wanted to let you know that for example the entry you sent for August last year (I think), which was "Super 8" by Little Jinder is one of my favourite songs of all time now and by far my most listened to track of last year! I wouldn't have discovered it if you hadn't sent it, so thank you (also really-really enjoyed Skott - Lack Of Emotion, Min Stora Sorg - Anso&John, Llojd - Stranden... in fact your entries have been in my top 11 out of the 15 editions I have taken part in 12 times ) ... But of course, good luck for the future and happy FSC anniversary, hope you keep on sending brilliant entries like before! xheart

Alina Devecerski
Flytta på dej!

BkWOxtv.jpg

So to celebrate the 100th anniversary of FSC, songs that were released during the FSC era (starting from March 2009), but wouldn't be eligible for this edition under normal circumstances, got a second chance at being chosen for FSC (temporarily excluding the eligible ones for this edition only). Now, initially the task felt a bit overwhelming... I mean what to choose when you have nearly a decade of music to choose from? After initially withdrawing due to lack of time, I changed my mind when I suddenly realized what Swedish song I still go back to every now and then, and it became clear to me...!

So, my pick for this special occasion is the catchy, quirky and still freshly sounding Swedish-language Electro-Pop party banger Flytta på dej! (Move!/Get Out of the Way!), performed by singer-songwriter Alina Devecerski. The single, which was officially released as a double release together with the track Jag svär (I Swear) back in April 2012, later became one of the biggest hits of the summer 2012 in Sweden, aswell as one of the biggest Swedish-language hits period (of the past decade atleast), topping the official single charts both in Norway and in Denmark. Taken from Devecerski's debut album; Maraton (Marathon), it's her only hit to date making it something of a "One Hit Wonder". Alina has yet to release something new following her 2014 second album release Gnista + Gas (Spark + Gas).

This is the second try for Devecerski in FSC, following the entry Armé (Army), which ended up at #20 in the 69th edition of FSC back in November 2014 (read more here). Question is, will Alina follow in Miss Li's footsteps and become more successful on her second try? You decide!

The result for Sweden in this special anniversary edition was decent I guess, was maybe hoping for a top. 10 but didn't know what to expect as the entry itself is quite "eccentric" in a sense and quite polarizing I could assume.

A very big thank you to everyone of you who voted for Sweden in FSC#100 - June 2017 xhug

Rhys
Last Dance

11tv0pf.jpg

In most FSC countries we're currently in the midst of the summer season and for this July edition, Sweden is sending the catchy Pop track Last Dance. The entry has a vibe fit to this season aswell including those bittersweet lyrics about love and heartbreak that could very well describe any of those short-lived, but often hectic and sometimes life-changing, summer romances that many of us have experienced atleast once in our lives, especially in our younger adult years.

This edition's Swedish entry is performed by 19-year old Rhys Clarstedt Frank. Born in the USA, Rhys eventually moved to Sweden at the age of 10 with her family. In 2015 she got discovered by Swedish producer-songwriter Jörgen Elofsson (who previously worked with artists like Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Celine Dion) which resulted in the release of her debut single Swallow Your Pride in 2016 and now followed up by Last Dance, originally released in February 2017, which is also her first charting single on the Official Swedish Singles chart.

The Swedish results in this edition I'm pleased with, back to the top. 5 and for a while it looked as if there could have even been a new victory but still...

AronChupa feat. Little Sis Nora
Llama in My Living Room

8_Aron_Chupa_feat_Little_Sis_Nora.jpg

Grab a drink, grab some friends and let's have some fun tonight! Sweden is finishing off the Northern hemisphere's Summer Season 2017 by speeding it up a notch with the catchy and fun novelty club banger; Llama in My Living Room, performed by producer/DJ Aron "AronChupa" Ekberg and his "Little Sis" Nora Ekberg. The two siblings, originating from the western Swedish town of Borås, are previously mostly known for the worldwide novelty club hit and Youtube sensation I'm an Albatraoz which was released back in 2014 and reached the top of the charts in several countries. I'm an Albatraoz also happens to be AronChupa's debut solo single and lends part of its title from the name the EDM novelty band Albatraoz that Aron also is a member of apart from his solo project as AronChupa.

Julia Adams
Deja vu

2500aie.jpg

Summer has ended and we're entering the Autumn (on the Northern hemisphere that is), going from a crazy party song about a llama named Chow Chow, to the mildly melancholic, more simplistic yet efficient and catchy mid-tempo Pop track Deja vu , performed by the 26-year old singer-songwriter Julia Adams.

Adams started out as part of the duo Little Marbles back in 2006, initially doing cover songs as a street-music act, eventually getting signed to a record label which resulted in the release of their debut album Vi accepterar mitt kaos (We Accept My Chaos) in 2008, followed by their second LP; Vi slutar när vi är klara (We Stop When We're Finished) (an album co-produced by FSC-winner Miss Li) in 2010. The duo released their third, and so far last, studio album back in 2012. In 2015, Adams released her debut solo single; Allt jag nånsin (Everything I Ever), followed by her debut EP Chanslös (Chanceless).

The single Deja vu, which was released back in March 2017, is currently Adams' latest release, and whether it will be part of a full solo-debut LP is yet to be announced, however for the time being let us enjoy this sweet little Pop gem, which has a slight touch of Country-Pop aswell as some modern Melodifestivalen- Swedish Schlager-Pop influences to it, for what it is.

Decent results, kind of what I expected tbh, although I was hoping for a change that I would fair better than normally when sending a Swedish language entry, but somehow it never happens xshrug

Anyhoo... as tradition still...

Ana Diaz
Det var du

5dwc43.jpg

Autumn is fully here on the Northern hemisphere and to fit the mood, Sweden is bringing the lyrically melancholic and sonically fine produced midtempo electro-Pop ballad Det var du (It Was You), performed by the 40-year old singer-songwriter-producer Ana Diaz.

Diaz first got contracted as a songwriter back in 2010 and has worked with international acts like Britney Spears and One Direction. In 2015 however, Diaz debuted as a recording artist on her own with the single Fyll upp mitt glas nu (Fill Up My Glass Now), taken from her 2016 debut EP Lyssna del 1 (Listen part 1). Later the same year, she followed up with her second EP release Lyssna del 2 (Listen part 2), which this month's entry is taken from.

Kind of mediocre results for Sweden in this edition, as expected (although I think it deserved a better result), still a bit sad though that it's so hard to gain support when sending Swedish language entries.

Thank you however to all that supported the :se: entry in FSC#104 - October 2017 edition xhug

Axwell Λ Ingrosso
More Than You Know

ojidsw.jpg

So for this November edition, the EDM/house duo Axwell Λ Ingrosso are making their comeback to the FSC after last entering the contest back in July 2015. As already presented, the duo consists of DJ's/Producers Axel Hedfors and Sebastian Ingrosso that previously made up 2/3 of the now defunct internationally successful Swedish EDM/house act Swedish House Mafia (<- you can read more about them by clicking at the link above).

The catchy, progressive and well-produced More Than You Know features vocals by singer/songwriter/producer Kristoffer Fogelmark and is the second single taken from the duo's second EP, that got released back in May this year. It is also the act's commercially most successful single to date topping the charts in central Europe and the Benelux countries aswell giving the duo a top. 3 Dance/Club hit in the US while also charting in the UK, Australia and France among others.

Last time they entered the FSC they weren't so lucky, maybe this time around we will see a bigger success in the FSC?

Jennie Abrahamson
To the Water

6ibbj9.jpg

Sweden is ending this year with the mysterious electro-dream-pop midtempo track To the Water, performed by Indie-Pop singer-songwriter Jennie Abrahamson. The song is taken from the 40-year-old singer's fifth studio album Reverseries that got released in early 2017.

After starting out singing in various bands, Abrahamson went solo back in 2006 and together with colleagues and friends from the music community she started her own indie record label and is also running a recording studio in Stockholm, Sweden.

Hope you will all enjoy this atmospheric song just as much as I do, and also hope you all will have a great Christmas and Holiday season!

So we're rounding up a pretty decent 2017 with the worst results in the entire year, not really the best way of ending a year on and slightly surprised but oh well... hopefully we're back on track in 2018... xheya
