Really ? I think Alexandra Redde Amiel has done great since she arrived.La Zarra's performance looks underwhelming as hell. Our HoD needs to get her shit together as soon as possible. It's freaking unbearable witnessing that year after year, with the only exception of Barbara. DAMN.
Yeah sure, she's messed up in 2020 and 2022...Really ? I think Alexandra Redde Amiel has done great since she arrived.
Can't blame them, the rehearsal's feed wasn't the very best, and she may be saving her vocals for the grand final.Seeing mixed comments on Twitter about her vocals at today's rehearsal.
I agree for 2020, but I think she did a good job in 2022Yeah sure, she's messed up in 2020 and 2022...
Well, just let's consider us lucky if we end up in the top 10 lmaoI agree for 2020, but I think she did a good job in 2022
Mine is Spain, but France is my 3rd place and I wouldn't mind if she won! Regardless of the staging. I mean, yes, some people who will hear the song first time might be influenced by the staging as well, but I just love the song alone and don't really care what she does on stage - exactly because the song is awesome.Pretty sure it won‘t happen, but France is for me the undisputed winner (by far) of this years edition. And IF it happened, I‘d be over the Saturn celebrating.

It feels though that France is on their way for a new victory in the upcoming years, feels like just a matter of time until they hit that sweet spot as they're actually trying now, taking several years of trial-and-error, same kinda vibe the Netherlands had since 2013
Yes, Francesco Gabbani "flopped" on the final night when he was expected to win. Everything can change suddenly and France can be that fanflop entry this year.A fanflop while being 3rd in the odds one week before the grand final? sure
I think Sobral was fairly assumed as the frontrunner once rehearsals started and Gabbani did this infamous monkey dance whereas by that time la Zarrah started to be seen more as a threat.Yes, Francesco Gabbani "flopped" on the final night when he was expected to win. I've watched the leak and the camera work is not that great during other performances as well. The camera was even visible during the performances of Sweden and the Netherlands. Maybe they will improve things before the final, but the delegations should have agreed with the producers what camera angles they want before the dress rehearsals, so I don't expect major changes. It won't flop don't get too crazeh, unless if a top 10 finish like... 10th is a flop considering you're the 3rd/4th in the betting odds.
The song is still better than 80% of the roster this year and the performance (that I finally saw in its entirety) is top 10-15 worthy at worst.
Besides that, there are some strange choices with the camerawork, things that seems logical to me like it's common sense but they do it in a different way and I can't wrap my head around it to be honest.
I'll talk about it here
So first of all, the camera work is slower than the disco beats. It's a common problem with a lot of the acts this year so it's maybe not our HoD fault. A lot of the "scenes" are way too long, they could cut them by 2 to 3 seconds. When the plinth is lit 1) you don't see it being lit which is absurd why don't you put all the emphasis on the thing you spend most of your money gurly gurl ? basically it goes plinth is off, La Zarra shot, plint is on and 2) THAT scene stays for like 2 seconds only, omg it should stays much longer, that's the main feature ! and my other "problem" is the spots are on the disco plinth and that's it... no fade in or fade out of the lights to make it dynamic which kinda kills the disco effect if you asks me. Concerning La Zarra, I think she did a great job, she has more than decent vocals she's a 12/10 on the Käärijä ladder which is great. The idea of the plinth is GREAT too it's just...camerawork and me being overly dramatric
I saw for Sweden and Iceland or was it Greece ? Like a full on camera appearing during the performance... that's a bummer tbh. Performances are the core of this contest and that part has to be executed well and I do agree : delegations asks for camera angles, tweaking them during rehearsals so HoDs all agreed on these shots and angles or BBC theatened them with the 2nd slot during the grand final ?I've watched the leak and the camera work is not that great during other performances as well. If the cameras were still visible like this in the aired shows, that would look very unprofessional, so I hope they will fix it. A camera blocking the view of a singer, as seen during Loreen's performance, is really shabby camera work. I can remember people complaining about bad camera work in Austria in 2015, but blocking the view of a performer with a camera would be a new level of bad.I saw for Sweden and Iceland or was it Greece ? Well what is done is done and that won't delete my joy about this year, i'm just wondering why it's happening.
