Even if the song itself doesn't do a thing for me, I do believe this may do better than what most are expecting.
Not really winning, but being a dark horse with a large portion of televotes would bring France another top 13 if the new Head of Delegation ''Steven Clerima'' is playing his cards right with the staging.

I knew he is going to improve with more practices. He has a good tonality to his voice. He is just shakey at times.
I hope he is going to do well to give France another top 10 finish.
I wonder if the final ESC edit is going to be arranged in a way to suit his vocal range more so he won't feel he needs to hit all the right notes and can focus on the overall presentation of the song/performance.

Oh good grief it's the same ourebouros of "Hey, maybe X can do well" => " Well, I don't think X can appeal to juries because *I*, person with good and refined taste (ed.: get a grip), don't like X and can see it happening". => several weeks pass => back to start. It can happen. Bilal Hassani *can* come top three in a jury vote. We don't know what the final version of "Roi" will look or sound like. Conchita and Salvador were jury HITS and weren't on anyone's radar at this stage. Saying Bilal can win a stretch, but I've had Bilal pegged as non-winning top five (specifically second place) ever since I first heard "Roi" and I still believe it *can* happen if France get it right. The song has universal appeal. Don't be the fool that writes off "Roi"'s chances.
And ftr, NO, I am *not* confident Bilal will be reach the top five. But top 10; based on what we know? Absolutely, yes!

People are very quick to write him off because of his shaky vocal performances at Destination Eurovision. But if you look pass that, the overall presentation of this year's French entry is rather strong. The song has the mass appeal - contemporary and with a strong message. It's cleverly written in both French and English and with his background story. It's very authentic to him and it doesn't come across too fake. You may not like him or the cause he stands for, but at least, he is selling it with conviction.
