I agree the performance is quite cringeworthy (not that it's bad but it's basically a Molitva rip-off) but he doesn't sing THAT bad imho.
Comparing Roi to Molitva is an insult to this masterpiece that is Serbia 2007 :p
I see your point however, as they both talk about same-sex love and self-acceptance

My main problem with Roi is the mix between French and English, I'm not against bilingual entries, only if it's done right. Here it seems they didn't know where to place the English parts so they just put one there and there. It doesn't seem natural at all.

Hey guys, haven't been much in this thread lately so don't hate on me :-) But what are the dislikes that Bilal is getting are all about? I like the song but in every ranking thread I read he's in the bottom. What have I missed?
collective hysteria and bitterness is what you're missing. it completely eludes me how eurofans resent bilal so much.

His studio version - at least for me - was in the beginning okay (but not exciting), but his live version was terrible. :? He can't sing at all and I generally disliked his performance. But there are many people who also love this song. So it's between hate and love, I guess!

Well his performance wasn't really good vocally, that's for sure.
But I feel like a lot of people didn't watch Bilal's winning performance (which is normal, it's not the "main" performance) in which his vocals were much better imo (except at 2min21, but hey) :

So I hope he will work on his vocals, because I feel that he CAN sing.

There was another performance where he sang decently ...was posted here many many pages ago.

Bilal will be a special guest at Vidbir final tomorrow.

If I'm not wrong the French contestant come to sing in your NF for the third time in a row. Do you know why ? Is there a link between Ukraine and France ?

Imagine if the revamp involved Bilal getting a long-haired wig and Roi becoming a Eurodance song.

SPIRIT OF ELENI

I not remember where he say that, a youtube video certainly, but he said he will maybe not wear the same wig and wanted one with long hair :D

Edit: well he say the same sing in the interview with wiwi, and talk about the revamp:

I take it as a compensation for Bruno Berberes and his sore hatred against East European people ("they have no taste"). Thankfully his successors don't hate us and they don't issue their 10-12 pts to Sweden certain countries... in April
I'm gagging at the current relationships tho, hopefully things stay as they are xrunhug

Huh ? When did he say that ?
I actually spent few minutes of my time to find the source but it's gone. No wonder, it happened more than 10 years ago
Right after Dima Bilan - Ani Lorak - Kalomira top 3. He was asked what he thinks about countries like Greece, Russia, Armenia, Ukraine that rely on staging and he replied that probably we have no taste in music. I remembered it because I didn't expect such reaction from a HoD :?

From the man who sent some of the worst entries we ever had, that seems absolutely not surprising. He just had no idea of what Eurovision really was..

i am so glad to see bilal unbothered and confident in his vidbir performance. just taking it out of the NF context already sees him winning people over (i love how so many people are saving face by going "wow he has improved so much i am liking this now!!" on youtube when... it's just a lower pitch lol. he wasn't out of tune in DE you just didn't like the sound of his voice in that pitch. people confuse basically everything with bad vocals in this fanbase). the hand crown remains iconic and memorable. yes, i still feel like he is doing well in israel.
