Re: FRANCE 2012

It really is amazing that France hasn't won since 1977, yet remains one of the most succesful ESC countries ever! They deserve winning again (even though they'll brag about it for five years xD).

I completely agree, and that 1977 win is actually the song I was about talking in a previous post. There is just something about L'Oiseau Et L'Enfant that I love. France have come up with some great entries over the years that have been seriously underrated. I could forgive them bragging if they won next year because they would have waited thirty-five years. They'd deserve a little brag.

(Speaking for my own country, when the UK finally win again we'll be so silly with delight that we'll not shut up about it for a very long time. So I'd definately understand the sentiment if France were the same. :D)

xyeah. Although the UK has been much more consistent, having won last in 1997. I feel pretty confident it'll win again in ten years' time. France is less certain IMO, but a top-5 placing seems in the realm of possibility.

Yeah, I see your point. France will probably win by chance one year. It'll be one of the top songs of the year, it'll be up against three or four other songs for the top place, and it'll win on the scores from the last couple of countries like Azerbaijan did. France will do it eventually. I really hope so at least.

I'm not too worried about my own country because when you consider that there are 45 countries participating and the other Big Five countries have waited much longer for their most recent victories (Germany waited 28 years for 2010 victory, Italy haven't won in 21 years, France haven't won in 34 years and Spain haven't won in 42 years) 14 years isn't all that bad. Another ten years won't hurt us because we need to recover ESC's reputation in my country before we can send in real winners. We always used to be in the Top 5 (We and France have the record for the most 2nd places of any ESC country). The UK need to get our mojo back before I'll feel we deserve a win again. France on the other hand have sent it good entries more often and, IMO, deserve more appreciation than any of the other Big Five countries at the moment.

that's completly false.

1) France will participate next year for sure
2) Fatal Bazooka won't be selected cuz they will do a national final, and I don't think french public would choose them ;)

Re: FRANCE 2012

I'm looking forward to seeing what the French public pick for themselves seeing as France have thought about doing a National Final for a while now. I'm sure they'll be more sensible than my country are! :)

I think France should send ZAZ (if she'd like to go for ESC), I'd vote 100000000000000X:mrgreen:

Well, Shy'm was rumored first for 2011 edition, instead we got that imo annoying popera thing...

I wonder if there's a chance maybe we could get her instead in 2012 and France can make up for that loss? That's nice contemporary French music.
