Midnight, it's time to put your face on
Game set, a killer shark in heels
I'm just the first shot on your hit list
High kicks, a predator on wheels
Woke up with bruises on my body
Hands tied, like Jesus on the cross
Your name's in lipstick on the mirror

Jezebel
I don't know how you got in my blood
Was it the dangerous things you do?
You always wanted to be a star
Jezebel
If you're the hunter then I'm the prey
You lick your lips as you walk away
Your final kiss is to leave a scar
On a heart
Jezebel

At night you turn into a tiger
A girl who looks like she's a boy
The world's most ultimate survivor

Jеzebel (Jezеbel)
I don't know how you got in my blood (Jezebel)
Was it the dangerous things you do? (Jezebel)
You always wanted to be a star
Jezebel (Jezebel)
If you're the hunter then I'm the prey (Jezebel)
You lick your lips as you walk away (Jezebel)
Your final kiss is to leave a scar
On a heart

Sunrise, you crawl under the covers
Sleep tight until the dying sun
Tonight you'll catch another lover
Jezebel

Jezebel (Jezebel)
I don't know how you got in my blood (Jezebel)
Was it the dangerous things you do? (Jezebel)
You always wanted to be a star
Jezebel (Jezebel)
If you're the hunter then I'm the prey (Jezebel)
You lick your lips as you walk away (Jezebel)
Your final kiss is to leave a scar
On a heart

Running order:
1. The Rasmus
2. Isaac Sene
3. Olivera
4. Bess
5. Younghearted
6. Cyan Kicks
7. Tommi Läntinen
RIP Isaac

Looks good for Cyan Kicks, Blind Channel also started from place 6. But of course that doesn't say much. Though I'm excited to see if The Rasmus will really win in a landslide as the odds predict. Lauri isn't the strongest vocalist and that also ruined the chances of the Teflon Brothers last year. Cyan Kicks could prove to be a similar but more reliable option.

Is that a random draw?

I don´t think that putting one of your biggest artists of all-time #1 is a good idea?

Dark Channel (#6)
Aksel (#3)

Softengine even won from position #1 (and back in 2014 even 8 acts competed in the final)

All in all, I don´t think that the running order really matters in Finland.

This 1,5 month from UMK-artists and their songs revealing to UMK-final is too long. I hope YLE will cut it next year at least to month or to three weeks.

If The Rasmus do what The Rasmus are capable of, they will win. First spot in Running order don't mean anything. But it will be close, anyway... Good the three rockish songs are separate in the order. Good for both Bess and Younghearted to come one after the other, because their songs are really different one from the other and create two very different moments... The only two acts I don't think will have a chance to win, are Isaac and Tommi. Everybody else could win.

I love all the songs on Finnish competing. :D My favorite is Bess but any of them would make me happy.

I just read the conversation about Finnish at esc and I'm wondering why there are not subtitles from broadcasters to their language for songs in other languages? I mean, the songs are known before the show, would it be too difficult to do technically?

Well, Missa Miehet Ratsastaa is one of my favourites modern Finnish entries and I really enjoy listening to the language (I have a lot of songs in Finnish in my Spotify weekly discover playlist xmusic.)

Finland and Estonia already have been having subtitles for the performances for many years, so no, it's not difficult at all. :) I think those are the only countries that have them. I guess others are just too lazy. :p

Miisa Rotola-Pukkila (one of the hosts of UMK) has interviewed all UMK participants. Btw. There is English subtitles:

Tommi Läntinen:

BESS:

Olivera:

Younghearted:

Cyan Kicks:

Isaac Sene:

The Rasmus:

Still loving this NF... it's absolutely the strongest on offer this year (which from memory I said about UMK last year as well!).

I'd love to see The Rasmus win if they're good enough live; they'd shoot Finland up to my #1 so far this year. But at the same time, I really enjoy pretty much all the acts (with the exception of Olivera and maybe Younghearted), so I don't think I could be *too* mad if Finland went with something else instead. Especially in what's a pretty weak ESC year for me so far, can we please just spread out The Rasmus / Isaac / Tommi / Bess / Cyan Kicks across Europe to replace some of the more underwhelming songs chosen this year?

I applaud the Finnish broadcaster for doing the right thing!

It must really feel strange to organise/host a national final tomorrow amidst these circumstances/after making such a statement, though.

As an avid Eurovision fan who have followed most national finals so far, it feels strange to continue hosting them and keep on going anyway. Of course, I don´t have to suffer or be afraid of my life/existence like Ukrainians right now, but tbh, Eurovision/music hasn´t made me laugh or be happy since the invasion. I panned to watch this national final because the Finnish selection is insanely good and diverse this time but honestly, I haven´t listened to any Eurovision music (or music in general). I don´t know about you guys, but I feel numb because of all of this.

I agree that it's strange due to the circumstances "in real world", but not because of the statement of not participating at ESC. It would've been a couple of years ago when UMK was more just NF for Eurovision, but I feel like these last couple of editions have turned UMK into something more. A bit like Sanremo, but less classy. :p The songs are extremely popular (especially Bess who has been #1 in the official charts 4 weeks in a row despite some much bigger names releasing songs same time) and I feel like they are truly showcasing what the Finnish music scene looks like. They are relevant to us even without ESC. And based on some of the reactions on social media, it seems plenty of people here agree with YLE's decision and actually are happy about it. I don't think it will change the viewing experience for us Finnish people even if we wouldn't participate in Eurovision, we can still celebrate whoever will win UMK. It'll be a celebration of Finnish music.

Yay, Finland will be participating now that Russia has been banned. So happy to see a complete North in ESC. :fi:
:is::dk::no::se:

My favorite in the Finnish NF is Younghearted. I know the odds of them taking the victory is probably slim, but here's hoping. xup
