Re: FINLAND 2014

My ranking:

1. Clarissa ft. John - Top Of The World
2. Softengine - Something Better
3. Lauri Mikkola - Going Down

------------------------------------------
4. Dennis Fagerström - My Little Honey Bee
5. Madcraft - Shining Bright
6. Hanna Sky - Hope
------------------------------------------
7. Jasmin Michaela - Kertakäyttosydän
8. Mikko Pohjola - Sängyn Reunalla
9. Hukka Ja Mama - Selja

------------------------------------------
10. MIAU - God/Drug
11. Lili Lambert - Let Me Take You There
12. MAKEA - Painovoima

Alright, so my personal winner is "Top Of the World", with "Something Better" and "Goind Down" close behind. I'd be really happy if one of these 3 songs won the NF. The second group consists of songs that I like, but not as much as my TOP 3. They are all good, but they also all lack some extra thing, something that would really make them shine. The third group is made of songs that are somewhere in the middle of the road for me. I can't say that they are bad, but they don't really appeal to me either. And the last group is made of songs that I really dislike.

Mikko the King Pohjola released a videoclip.

He has a really defined jaw doesn't he :D He has a rather lovely torso too xheat

The video looks a bit cheap but I LOVE the song and I hope that Finland will make the right choice

Re: FINLAND 2014

My feelings are very indifferent towards Mikko's song. It's something we've heard a million times before. Sits on the fringe of mainstream music. I feel absolutely nothing from it which is the worst thing. If you're gonna do a song like this it needs some kind of emotional pull or sincerity to it. It's too well produced and polished to offer any kind of quaint charm. Music like this is almost equal to all those "Disney" westernised ballads we had flooding the contest a few years back.

I'd much rather Jasmin. Her song may have been wrecked with that revamp but it's got a lot more character to it still.

I must agree with mr. Wood! about Mikko's song being mainstream. It's a typical feel good kind of pop ,were, like a kukuk clock that goes tick . tack . tick . tack after 3 seconds you are wondering were the kukuk bird is it never shows!!.
Instead the song ends just were it started.

I think the fist time i discovered that I actually like this type of music was with this guy:

In the danish selection Dansk Melodi Grandpix this guy sings something similar:

I like to reed or write while this sort of music runs in the background.

So I say go Mikko ....... and the lyrics in english please!

Shameful the lack of people on here watching. MIAU were the best so far I thought.

I also got the time wrong and I had meant to watch it, so disapointed. Can't find a link anywhere either...
