Re: SUOMI - Finland 2011

Too much metal on ESC? I don't think so.

I don't think metal has EVER entered ESC so far. Terasbetoni surely were not a metal band, and neither were Lordi and Wig Wam. We had rock songs, but metal? Nope.

But would love to see a metal band on ESC definetly :D

As matter of fact Teräsbetoni is a metal-band.

But apart from that I fully agree with you. We could need more metal-acts in ESC and since other countries would never even consider sending a metal-act Finland is our only hope.

Diversity is what I like about ESC! ESC should as far as possible aim at including as many genres as possible and metal should be one of them.

Just look at their western neighbour to see a country that would never ever send that....

Must say that the Webjoker songs was very poor overall..I only liked the last song "Gooseberry" that at least could give the NF some edge..
I would like to see rock for Finland but after seen the artists that are chosen and the webjoker songs..I don't think it will be rock this time either! :(

I've just listened to the songs from the open selection, and Blackbird are my faves. I have no idea how it would have done on ESC, but it sounds really interesting.

And the qualifying trio is:

Father McKenzie - Good Enough
Cardiant - Rapture in Time
Saara Aalto - Blessed with Love

There no info how many votes were given, but my guess is, not many, probably only a few hundred. If you haven't listened to these songs yet, they are available in YouTube. Just type "Eurovision 2011 Finland."

I've already listened to qualified songs in Finish NF

Saara Aalto - Blessed with Love - good voice, very smooth song, but I think kind of boring for esc
Cardiant - Rapture in Time- Finish rock is very nice as always :-)
Father McKenzie - Good Enough- oh Boysband singing interesting song

My congratulatios Finland! These 3 songs are really deserve to competete in semi-final. Waiting for the following songs!

It's a shame Blackbird didn't make it :(

I like Cardiant, I dislike Saara Aalto, and Father McKenzie is so-so.

Milana Misic would be my choice! That's a unique entry and it's in Finnish language aswell.

It is a pretty weak year for Finland it seems :/ but best I think is Stala & So., would be nice with some rock from them in Düsseldorf! :)
