Re: SUOMI - Finland 2011

Does anybody really think there is too much metal in Eurovision? Yes, after two such entries during over 50 years history of contest, what we really need now is electro

Finland is metal:

Considering my own taste ESC could be just about metal .

But let's be honest, are there that many well known Finish acts across Europe besides their metal/rock bands?

And the metal community is very loyal and doesn't really care about neighbour voting, so at least those who watch will at least vote for a Finnish metal band.

Too much metal on ESC? I don't think so.

I don't think metal has EVER entered ESC so far. Terasbetoni surely were not a metal band, and neither were Lordi and Wig Wam. We had rock songs, but metal? Nope.

But would love to see a metal band on ESC definetly :D

Matt, why are you posting that? YLE haven't even said if the tango contest winner be part of the NF this year or not :p

I liked his 2010 entry too. It was one of my favorites along with Amadeus, Kuunkuiskaajat and Monday. Too bad it didn't even manage to pass the first round :(

Indica for 2011?

I am a big fan of Indica (even if they are better in Finnish), I would love to see them in ESC! :)
Still, they need to find the simple melodies again, "Islands Of Light" is a bit complicated if you compare to the finnish version "Vuorien Taa".

First candidate reveals itself.

Well, kind of. I'm not sure about their genre, but this band called Luis & The Bots informed, that they have participated in to the open selection. You can listen to some of their songs on mySpace.
