It feels like this WC is coming way too late for Pizarro... I'd love to see him to take part in the shape he had like two years ago when he still carried Werder on his shoulders...But I think it was always his dream to once taking part in WC so I hope he gets fit and get nominated as joker at least xpray

Well he got nominated on call for the playoffs, even though he just got back from an injury. He will get nominated, if there's no serious injury stopping him :D

Hmm, I can think of better Pot 4 teams than Australia xthink

Serbia can"t get into a group with Spain and Germany, fair enough, but then there is still Nigeria, Japan... Maybe Morrocco is better, too.

But yes, Germany and Spain in one group would me breathtaking. I hope this wont happen though

When? He was never nominated for the playoffs by the coach. Pizarro was absolutely out of Ricardo Gareca's plans, after a terrible first leg of the qualifiers, the coach decided not to call him anymore. He was nominated only the four first matches, in a long set of 20 matches. Plus, Claudio Pizarro is maybe the most hated player in Peru right now, he might had a brilliant career in Germany but with the National Team he just lacked of commintment and was pointed out of the leader of multiple scandals and corruption.
There is no room for Pizarro in the World Cup 100%.

Press here said that he got nominated on call. Maybe the provisional doping ban of Guerrero changed some minds

Costa Rica is overrated as hell. They live only by their Name because of the last WC, like f.e. Algeria who everyone expected to be a favorite for the African Cup and the WC-Quali only because they had a very good match vs Germany 2014. Costa Rica lost against Hungary (0:1 vs Andorra and Luxembourg in the last 3 Months) 2 days ago..

I'm surprised. No, he was never nominated on call. It would have been in all the headlines of Peruvian media and I wouldn't have missed it.
It was Pizarro who offered himself but the coach didn't need him. He just changed some pieces in his chessboard and called a player from the local league.

Btw I Dont like the new Pot-System. With the old system the Pots would probably look like this:

Pot1: :ru: :de: :br: :pt: :ar: :be: :pl: :fr:
Pot2: :ng: :tn: :ma: :eg: Senegal :pe: ::uy :co:
Pot3: :au: Saudi Arabia :jp: :kr: :ir: :mx: :pa: ::cr
Pot4: :dk: :se: :is: :rs: :hr: :en: :ch: :es:

Btw does anyone know the shortform from Saudi Arabia and Senegal?

I just see we could have a group with :de: ::uy :mx: :es:

What's the difference between pot systems?

Until last WC, Only the First Pot was based on the Fifa-Ranking, the other underlied Geographical Restrictions.
Now, All 4 Pots are only based on the Fifa-Ranking. But still we can have only 2 Europeans in One Group and not 2 Countries from the same area.

Have you guys heard about the Losers Cup that the US federation wants to do next summer with the teams that didn't qualify to the World Cup? The ultimate most American way to react to not qualifying to the World Cup in Russia  It's like a bunch of kids throwing a tantrum after not being invited to the popular kids party

Well, with Chile, Ghana, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ukraine, Wales and a few other this would a be solid tournament with good names (Vidal, Sanchez, Hamsik, Konoplyanka, Yarmolenko, Bale, Pulisic) in there. And I heard that some real WC teams could be invited too as a preparation for Russia

Well I don't mind it, it can be interesting, as long as it is a friendly tournament and they don't actually put it on at the same time as the actual World Cup

Costa Rica lost from Spain 5-0, so that group would rather look like a goal difference builder for Spain and Germany.

I think a group of Germany, Uruguay or Colombia, Denmark and Nigeria would look pretty difficult.

Group A: The Worst Openingmatch in the History.
Group B: 1 Iberian and 1 Arabic Match, sounds interessting.
Group C: France vs Denmark has always been interessting.
Group D: Probably the Group of Death.
Group E: Hoped for an easier Group for our Neighbours.
Group F: One of the strongest Groups weve ever got, but I hoped for that.
Group G: Panama isnt completely Chanceless.
Group H: The Weakest Group from the Names.

My Predictions:

Group A: ::uy :ru: :eg: ::lomb
Group B: :es: :pt: :ir: :ma:
Group C: :fr: :dk: :pe: :au:
Group D: :ar: :is: :hr: :ng:
