Repost in proper thread

Salvo Montalbano is back in SVT with 4 episodes (season 10) this summer!!! xcheerxcheer

Il commissario Montalbano is an Italian TV series produced and broadcast by RAI (actually in cooperation with SVT). I don't know how well known it is, but it's simply brilliant. Every episode is carefully done and is made up by a completed story. It's all about the character Salvo Montalbano though, played by Luca Zingaretti. There's also a lot of side-stories going on, but you need to be alert to spot them. One example is the fate of the 1000 years old olive tree that made Montalbano so furious that he trashed a new-built house, police-chief or not. Either you get the moral of the parallel story (sensmoral) or you don't. ;)

Spending the last few weeks of Summer rewatching Borgen with my sister. I watched the first two seasons in May and now I'm dying waiting for Season 3 to come out with English subtitles on BBC4. It's incredibly gripping!

Upstairs Downstairs!
upstairsDownstairs_2142316b.jpg

Set in 1930s London, follows the stories of the "upstairs" (the rich family) and the "downstairs" (the servants). Pretty similar to Downton Abbey really :D

Cant believe I never watched it before now, Im obsessed! :p

Breaking bad!!!!
Best serie of the world without any doubt
so much excitement, so much interesting moments, great characters (almost everybody is evil, but very sympathic though )
simply love it. A pity that it's almost over

Don't know what the Brits here think of it. It's very silly and predictable humor but I've laughed my ass off  Miranda is just too hilarious! And I can relate a lot to many of her awkward moments (not that awkward, thank God )

My favourite 10 series that lived too short a life (but deserved way more seasons, instead).

10) Bionic woman
Bionic Woman (TV Series 2007)

A reimagining of the popular 1970s TV series about a female athlete who is given bionic strength.
Canceled during season 1 (only 8 episodes).

9) Dollhouse
Dollhouse (TV Series 2009)

A futuristic laboratory assigns different tasks to its various residents, who then have their memories erased upon the completion of their assignments.
Eliza Dushku does a great job giving life to a different character for each episode. It was very underrated by the audience. Canceled after season 2. :(

8) Painkiller Jane
Painkiller Jane (TV Series 2007)

Jane Vasco is a DEA agent recruited by a covert government agency that hunts genetically enhanced individuals. She discovers that she can heal rapidly from any injury and begins to investigate the source of her powers.
Really bad choice not to renew this series. Canceled after season 1. :(

7) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (TV Series 2008)

Set after the events in 'Terminator 2' Sarah Connor and her son John, trying to stay under-the-radar from the government as they plot to destroy the computer network Skynet in hopes of preventing Armageddon.
A great series, packed with good action and great cast, like Lena Headey, Summer Glau, Brian Austin Green and even Shirley Manson. Unbelievably canceled after season 2. :(

6) Better off Ted
Better Off Ted (TV Series 2009)

Great comedy show, with a great Jay Harrington and a wonderful Portia de Rossi playing the executives of Veridian Dynamics. Too bad it only lasted 2 seasons.

5) Legend of the Seeker
Legend of the Seeker (TV Series 2008)

After the mysterious murder of his father, a son's search for answers begins a momentous fight against tyranny.
Based on Terry Goodkind's books, this was a fans' favourite. Nevertheless, it didn't go further than season 2.

4) Birds of prey
Birds of Prey (TV Series 2002)

In the future, long after the Batman has driven himself into exile, his legacy lives on in the form of the Birds of Prey--Black Canary, Oracle, and the Huntress.
A great and original superhero show, with Ashley Scott playing the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. 1 great season and nothing more. :(

3) Threshold
Threshold (TV Series 2005)

A team of experts are assembled after the U.S. Navy discovers an extra-terrestrial object briefly appeared near a ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
This one had the greatest cast, with Carla Gugino playing the leader of the anti-invasion team, Brent Spiner and Peter Dinklage. It didn't help in going further than season 1. :(

2) Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman (TV Movie 2011) - IMDb

This one didn't even go on air. The pilot episode leaked on internet and so I had a chance to see it. And I loved it! Adrianne Palicki's Wonder Woman was very different from the Lynda Carter's one, and yet she was very interesting, with a dark edge on her that made me want more of it. Shame on NBC for killing such a potentially wonderful series! oOX

1) The Middleman
The Middleman (TV Series 2008)

A struggling artist is recruited by a secret agency to fight against evil forces. Based on the graphic novels by Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Les McClaine.
"They fight evil so you don't have to!" Best series ever! Bring it back, please!

I knowww, though I haven't watched all of the first 13 episodes. :'D The thing I love the most about is that it makes me laugh so hard and cry at the same time, and the acting is great without being cheesy stereotypical comedy. :)
