Is it any good?

Yes, they have worked much to get a credible environment - people are working with probable things, wearing probable cloths and so on. The main issue is the despotic earl who seem to have dictator-like powers - plain wrong - the society was "democratic", free men i.e. head of family, voted at the local "ting" for matters of justice. Wrong is also the death penalty. If payment was impossible the guilty person became "fredlös" an outlaw for some time. Pity they didn't try to be as authentic as possible. It's a Hollywood production though. Irish/Canadian production for The History Channel.

If one can tolerate the errors it's pretty entertaining, but then I love these sort of things.

The story is about Ragnar Lodbrok, a famous semi historic warrior (the one who was thrown in the snake pit by King Ella of Northumbria). The series has put Ragnar as a farmer somewhere near Bergen Norway sometime around the years 790-800. Legends however say he was the son of the Swedish (or more correct Svitjod) king Sigurd Ring who won the battle of Bråvalla and conquered Denmark in the 700s.

Swedish saying:
Ragnar shouts from the snake pit: "Grymta månde grisarna om de visste vad den gamle galten lider" meaning something like "you don't know who you're dealing with and you will pay for this later". :D

Is anybody enjoying Devious Maids as much as I am???
I've only seen the Pilot so far....but boy was it Outrageously Good!!! xDDD
I am especially in awe of the Brilliant casting they have~~
I will most certainly be enjoying this ride!
I do. When I heard that producer of Desperate Housewives made this serie too, I decided to watch. I watched 2 or 3 episodes so far. I had no time to continue it till end of the season but I will do it as far as possible. Not as good as Desperate Housewives but really nice.

Not sure if anybody mentioned this masterpiece of mystery:

If the essence of mystery lies on riddles and puzzles, to solve apparently impossible matters, to try to explain the unexplainable, this is your show. It´s been released on and off since 1997, I think. Jonathan Creek is an extremely smart guy who helps the well-known magician and womanizer Adam Klaus with his illusionary tricks at the theatre where he performs. The first seasons accompanied by the memorable journalist Madeleine McGhellan are a must, full of pure suspense and comedy born from their personalities crash.
Later, the 90-minutes specials for Christmas or Easter are also independent episodes and REALLY worth.
Please, give it a try and comment ;)

I'm a big fan of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well! xcheer xcheer

And about Maria Hill: I think that she might become a regular in the 2nd season (if there will be one), because Cobie Smulders won't star as Robin in HIMYM anymore. :)

Third season of AHS started earlier this week and it seems like this season will be awesome xcheer

Oh yes, AHS is literary one of my favorite series of all time now, and I love the anthology concept of it. I can't decide on which season is the best thus far, I think the second one has a slight edge over the first and third so far though, but I'll give my verdict when this one has finished.

As for the scary discussion, I have to agree, the third one is rather unscary so far... but still good.
