I was a disappointed with Armenia tonight, it's slipped down in my estimations. The performance just seemed quite bland and a bit messy too. :(

Still happy it qualified though....but it's not near the top anymore for me...

Yeah, the running was strange. I saw Eurovision countdown again and they showed her song there with a completely different choreography (I guess from the NF) which I really liked and since the song is my favorite ESC song this year already, this would have made it perfect. I'm not sure why they changed it.

I noticed this year, the songs are moving towards 'modern' tunes.

Last year we have loads of ethnic flavoured songs like Moldova, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Turkey, etc.

I think the new generation of audience is more acquainted with modern tunes.

When was the last time ethnic/ethnic fused songs won Eurovision? :geek:

Neither did I (I think at least, can't find the semi 2 prediction topic at the moment lol), but I wouldn't have placed them over Sweden, and certainly not over Croatia this year.

Well first of all ESC needs to move away from the typical ESC pop/schlager/whatever it's called. Even some totally different styled songs sound like one and same ESC song. I have nothing against ethnic songs, but I'd prefer electronic music, hip hop and maybe more rock/metal. Anyway, diversity is the key. There's no point of the contest if everyone sounds the same.

Greece came really close (2nd) in 2008. Norway won with an ethnic ditty in 2009.

I would've placed them over Sweden.

Lol, damn, you're quick in replying! Yeah, sounds reasonable that Denmark took out Sweden, just like Georgia took out Croatia really.

Well, Secret Combination was basically a modern electronic pop song with few Greek elements, so I would say it's a perfect compromise.

I like that song, the singers voice annoys me a great deal, but still that one was good.
