Ok.... I know you didnt like the song, or Annas voice. I am certain if she was trying to make a living in music, and study, she would definately get into higher education because she has a great voice. But what you say about thaat she was a big favorite in sweden is all wrong.
I didn't say that at all. I said that she was only a favourite among [some] Swedes. As in the only people she was even close to being a favourite was (some) Swedes, (some) Norwegians and some fans here on ESCToday.

But rest of europe was more or less on her side...
What rest of Europe? Did you see her press conferences? The only media present were Swedish and Norwegian. Gee, where was the rest of Europe?
Name 5 countries where at least two columnists/"experts" predicted her to win. Heck, name one single betting list which has her finishing Top 5.
dragontrumpetare said:
even norway stated she would win.
Yes. ANd I said that.

So you actually talking crap if you telling us in this forum that she was a big favourite in Sweden, because that was never the case.
Sweden is always a big favourite in Sweden because the Swedish people delude themselves into thinking their entry will win. It might not be a favourite among the
majority of viewers in Sweden, but there wasn't a single country in Europe that holds Sweden in higher regards than Sweden this year besides
possibly Norway, but I doubt even that.

But those people who want to have songs that acutally has a heart, lost tonight. I still think this song Anna sang was the song with most heart and soul. Not just an popsong. And she just made it a lot better.
Who cares? It's garbage. Who cares if it has heart if it's garbage and the number was badly presented? The only saving grace was that Anna's voice isn't total garbage.
What's wrong with pop, anyway? And, newsflash, "This Is My Life"
is. Being a ballad doesn't make it any less of a pop song.

But to be honest... This isnt a fiasko for Sweden at all. We (as someone stated before in the forum) can win but for another country. And that do tell that Sweden is still a big country in the Eurovision.
It
is a giant fiasco. Because Sweden keeps electing garbage to represent us, which is why so many songwriters send their best entries abroad. Because they know that their numbers would never be elected by the deluded Swedish people who keep electing songs anyone with half a brain know will be rejected by the European people.
I've been telling you all Sweden was going to fail ever since the end of Melodifestivalen and a bajillions fans fought me tooth and nail on these forums, insisting Sweden wasn't going to fail, that Sweden was
guaranteed Top 10 or Top 5. No, it was perfectly clear to me and anyone who knows how Eurovision works that the song was going to fail.
Just because
you like a song doesn't mean the rest of Europe, even Western Europe, will! Nobody cares that Anna came 2nd or whatever at Swedish Idol. What Europe got to see last night was an 18 yearold going on 30 dressed peculiarly (really? Stockings, a short dress, a quasi-tiara and converse?!), a bad stage show (swaying to the music, random glowsticks at the start of the song for no reason (they would've made a much greater impact if they were lit later on in the song), a voice that's at times frail and about to break (in a bad way), a voice that's very niche and definitely not going to be popular among Eastern European voters
and an interminably boring song. Especially the first time you hear it. It is not a song which works the first time you hear it. You don't even remember most of it the first time you hear it because the song's range isn't that large. She stays pretty much within
one single octave throughout the entire song (until the bridge), which, combined with her deep and niche voice, makes the song sound extremely monotone. The first time you hear it, you can barely make out the refrain from the verse and afterwards, it's all just a jumble of sounds. You can barely remember much about the song.
Being the 7th song to perform, many viewers had already had enough time to grow weary or needed a break to go pee or make some more popcorn. Anna's song is interminably boring the first time you hear it, especially the verse. Many viewers probably got up to go to the bathroom, get more crisps/chips or started chatting amongst their friends.
It's clear that the Swedish people does not know what will work at Eurovision. For example, you seem to think Anna had a flawless performance overall and that it's shocking she didn't make it to the final and end up Top 5, even going as far as deluding yourself into thinking that "All of Europe said she deserved to win". Really, what countries were those? Doesnotexistia?
Maybe now the Swedish people will wise up: If you want to do well at ESC, stop voting for Swedish Idol cast-offs (because they are young, inexperienced and will undoubtedly screw up!), stop voting for songs which only work in Sweden, stop voting thinking only of what song is your favourite personal entry. Start voting for songs which have an international sound and which will work internationally, both in Western Europe and Eastern Europe.
