If the start of the show is fairly quick, a lot of people will still be busy fixing snacks when Azerbaijan performs.

Spain's circus act and Norway's Rybak clone? Really? Seriously, if you want to put down Azerbaijan for absolutely no reason, then you should at least compare it to something that actually might be better.

Look at the games on this forum. Sweden is top-10 or even top-5 in most of them, and we're not all Swedes.
Also on the Spanish websites, Sweden was 5th or 6th, and believe me, it wasn't because of the Swedes ;)
"A few vocal fans here on the forums". I never said the fans were Swedes.

I,m the only one who thinks that the song of Israel is too powerfull for his voice, he couldn,t keep it at the end.Ukraine....uaaaau, and Turkye double uaaau.

Yes, I agree about that the song is a bit too powerfull for his voice. And a BIG YES to Turkey and Ukraine! :D
Watch the national final performance. It's not too powerful for his voice at all. He's probably sick or had problems with his earpiece or something.

yes, that is luck, dear.
Being the first to perform might or might not affect her votes.

i think it is a sensation that ukraine made it to the final. normally my musical taste just means very bad luck. in the first semi finale estonia was my favorite.
this time ukraine was my favorite. i was very surprised by this song. can it be that it was literally the ONLY song this evening which sounded kinda depressig? most songs are maybe ballads but much more uplifting after all and 50% sound like a bad copy of disney tunes.
i really think the song from the ukraine is very different to the other songs. it is what i consider, beside germany & estonia, good music, which i even would be interested in outside of the contest. i normally listen to what you call "indie" perhaps.

i will vote for it on saturday and i will vote for israel. i think it was an awesome performance by harel skaat. the song itself is a little bit too "kitschy" (?, "kitschig" in german), but i think artistically it was one of the strongest moments so far.
i also like safura. eva rivas and sofia nizharadze have been okay as well.
i actually think the voting tonight was quite allright. it's very sad for sweden and croatia which had very decent performances as well. but it is nice to never listen to the songs from the netherlands and switzerland again. ;)

thank you, dear europeans, for voting tonight.

It's a bit sad that all the ex-Soviet made it apart from the three coolest countries in the Baltic region. Also, the worst songs of ex-Yugoslavia made it. Pretty much all songs in English made it and most in the national ones didn't (talking about semi 2). :( I want a country that has never won before to win and I want it to be, either Iceland, or Romania. :D Could be also Portugal but not Azerbaijan/Armenia/Georgia who have hardly started participating now.

I voted for Romania and Georgia. Romania was good as always. But Georgia was surprisingly amazing. Her performance was perfect.

I'm so glad that Jon and his group qualified. Manga was very good. Eva was not so good tonight. Her voice cracked. Harel was good but not great. Also Safura was good but her run was funny. I'm sorry for Anne. I wish she could be in the final.

Anyway it was a great night and much better than first semi.

Yes!!!!!! Ireland made it!

Overall I'm very happy with how things panned out. Turkey completely and truly won me over with that performance! Fantastic! It was Turkey's great performance that knocked Croatia off my list of wanted qualifiers:

Bolded are my wants that made it...

Ireland
Cyprus
Sweden
Turkey
Denmark
Armenia
Bulgaria
Azerbaijan
Romania
Netherlands

7/10 is great! I'm shocked that Sweden failed though it was really starting to grow on me :(

Not mad about Ukraine.....well the song isn't really doing a whole lot for me but her voice is very interesting....I guess anything is better than Russia :p

I voted twice for Sieneke, such a lovely song I wanted to qualify so badly :( But it was not to be...

All things considered it's looks like a great final imo anyway. About 10-12 songs that I really like :) and a good few more songs which are nice to listen to aswell

Well, the Ukraine was definitely one of them.

Why Alyosha? I think she was quite the opposite. :D

Tonight's semi was bound to have some surprises, and boy did it ever! Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey blew me away with their performances, Romania rocked and Cyprus was excellent! So glad all of them made it to the final. I was a bit disappointed with the performance of Armenia, Israel and Azerbaijan though. :? And then the final moment, who would be the last qualifier, Sweden or Croatia (big loss either way), and it turned out to be Denmark!
