I don't understand how/why people bet so early on. I guess because the odds are not as good and therefore if on the off chance the song might be good, they could do well! The UK hasn't even got a song yet so god knows why it's doing so well. We'll never win lol!

betting when more than a half of the countries doesn't have a song is quite ridiculous, I must say... :? How can France be last when they already have a song, while the other countries from the Big5 don't have one ?...

Well obviously because betters view it as having such little chance of winning that a country without a song is more likely to win ;).

Why are you bothered about the UK betting odds when they don't even have a song yet? It's meaningless.

Agree its a bit silly. The UK song may be rubbish or it may be good.

I would point out that the UK and Ireland always do pretty well in the bookies odds - because most of the bookies are based in the UK and Ireland and people placing the bets tend to be from those countries too. So its no big surprise Jedward - who everyone in the UK/Ireland has heard of - are leading to Ireland being clear favourites.

Even Finland does ok in the bookies odds most of the times, but the final result is something totally else after all

These odds are ridiculous! It seems they only assess the general potential for a country without knowing the song....

And if the songs were taken into account, why are Norway and Ireland so high up then?

Well, the odds must point some things, since the songs we know so far have no chance of winning (not even to reach the top-5) ;)

Because Jedward and Eric Saade did quite well last year.
