I think the end of the 2010 decade will see a fundamental change in the voting system (ie, doing away with the famous 'douze points' system).

Hahaha :-D. Well, I wish the ESC could continue to function on the current voting system, but really I find the current voting sequence both too long and too quick at the same time, because there are 43 countries voting and you only get to see their top 3 in a few seconds time. That strikes me as cumbersome and it undermines the entertainment value of one of the Contest's most famous part. If ever more countries participate (and it doesn't seem like it'll ever go back below 30-35 though I may be wrong), keeping the current system is just going to diminish the show's credibility...

I may be wrong... I love the "douze points", but it felt much more... relevant a few years ago. When there were no semi-finals, and when you didn't have to skip everything but the top 3 points to get a voting sequence shorter than an hour thirty...

I agree. The excitement of the 12 points system is quite effete now as it is in use since 1975(!). And not that it was utterly fair. Changes, please! :D

I hope the points system doesn't change! What I do hope to see happen is the change in how the jury and televotes are weighed. Though, I tend to "vote like the jury" (sadly I can't actually vote), I think it would be fairer if the televotes had more weight than the jury votes. I would be happy with a 60/40 split, or even a 75/35 split (televote/jury)

I want voting system like in MF before 2011, jury gives 120 points to their favourite entry, 100 pts to 2nd favourite, 80 to 3rd favourite etc.,results of televoting like an usual

Carola would have represented Sweden at least 5 other times, and would hope to beat Mr Humpernick's record as 'oldest performer' ever

Until 2030:

Evridiki will participate once more for Cyprus, this time singing in Spanish!
Constantinos Christoforou will be again in the Cypriot NF 3 more times, but he will fail to win.
Adele will represent the UK and beat the record of Alexander Rybak with the most votes received. She will get 12 points from all countries, including Greece & Cyprus!
The following year, Lady GaGa will come to beat Adele's record, so she will represent Italy, but she will come 2nd.
Michalis Hatzigiannis will represent Cyprus once more, after CyBC internally selects him, with a song entitled "Apocalypsis"! He will make it in the top 10!
Rona Nishliu will represent Albania once more, with a song entitled "Coffee"!
Greece will continue sending the same style of songs every year until 2030!
Helena Paparizou will represent Sweden, but she will not make it to the top 10!

Heres what I'm thinking

Untied Kingdom gets spilt up into 4 different independent countrys with Scotland winning in 2020
Finland gets 5 0 pointers and just give up entering
Australia and New Zealand get a invite but they rejected it.
In a surprise upset Monaco wins the 2025 Eurovision and San Marino take home the 2026 Eurovision

I'm guessing that eurovision will turn into "worldvision", so that every country in the world would be able to participate. I would sooooooo love to see Japan in the contest :D
