This thread is for any general Eurovision 2023 discussion not limited to or specifically about any country's national selections or song choices.
I'm sorry my dude but you failed on the first and most important step - getting an actually competitive song capable of qualifying at all in any universe
Yeah, their attitude maybe gives an insight into why Ireland keeps failing at Eurovision, we need to get off our high horses. I remember similar sour grapes from Nicky Byrne in 2016 who blamed bloc voting despite his awful song. Brooke in fairness to her seemed very humble and gracious.I'm sorry my dude but you failed on the first and most important step - getting an actually competitive song capable of qualifying at all in any universe
I think the fact that he tags the HoD after that is kinda telling too.
I'm sure this is the mentality pestering the whole Irish delegation, this whole "they never give us a chance anyway so why bother even trying"
They literally gave it their all, maybe even too much.

Didn't know there were camels in Ireland
This is one of the only times where I managed to predict all 10 qualifiers, despite it being such a bloodbath.

Has anyone ever seen any leaked data on how many votes get cast in each country, either GF or SF? I'd be fascinated to see. Surely in some of the smaller population countries (Iceland, Malta, Montenegro) some entries only get a handful of votes.
They gave it all they got, until they failed.

Paul got me too. Actually thought we did a good job overall on the coverage and presenting.I can't believe I'm actually going to type this but... I actually enjoyed the BBC's coverage of the first semi.
They weren't making fun of the acts, they didn't talk over the presenters or the VTs. Yeah, it is because they are hosting but it was a welcome change. And I won't lie, I did start to tear up during the opening stuff, partly because of that opening, and I realised that Paul O'Grady's appearance in the opening was likely one of the last things he ever recorded for TV.
The first Semi Final was watched by 2.3 million viewers in the UK last night - with a huge peak of 3.5 million - it’s the most watched Semi Final in BBC history.
?If the Q in semi 2 is 100% correct from betting odds, this will be one of the best yet one of the worst Eurovision ever.
