Why does Ireland only have 4 jurors? That's kinda strange

Did one of the five fall ill - or had their votes discounted? Has RTE explained this.

The four left certainly had different views.

One ranked Australia top two of the others 21st and 24th.

3 ranked Belgium 1st or second - the other 19th. That fourrh juror cost Belgium the 12 points which went instead to Loreen.

Two ranked UK 4th and the others 20th and 21st

One ranked Spain 4th - another 25th.

We have 50+50 system and such outcomes shouldn't be surprising.

Wrong! This year we had 50.x % public and 49.x % jury! They EBU even wrote the ROTW vote counts as an additional country to give more power to the people (as there was no ROTW jury).

So - the people were supposed to have more power over juries AND Loreen was only 7th in the ROTW televote, like in many countries on average or even worse than the average so public clearly didn’t want Loreen yet juries let her win in a landslide because they knew she wouldn’t make it with the public.

Soooo, do we know now which countries were or better we’re not eligible to vote in the ROTW?

My beloved Sennek was on the Belgian jury in addition to the pretentious one in Hooverphonic

Also from my quick glance Aminata and Sara Jo (finally back to eurovision after the mess that was Ljubav je svuda lol)

Well, the jury votes seem as fishy as last year but no investigation because it is in favour of Sweden. As always.

Also, it’s kinda crazy that a song that is top 2 with half of the juries and bottom 5 with the other two gets an average midtable result. That reflects the taste of neither jurors! None of them thought the song was average or middle of the road then. How can juries be fair? Saying this for years. 5 people are far too few!

Can we appreciate Czechia for doing staging on a low budget and looking excellent?
Yes, I loved it. In my top 5. Personally I would have liked it to get a higher jury score but happy with its result overall so not gonna complain, especially when so many fan favourites flopped. It's a great song and Vesna served so much attitude.

OK, but I still believe it was a deserved victory anyway just like Finland would have been. The juries had their say and agreeing or disagreeing with it Loreen was their choice. I am ok with that.

Absolutely agree. Juries need to be reformed.

Oh good god, Twitter and Reddit are toxic today. I've stopped looking at them for Eurovision coverage. Has there ever been such a bitter day post Eurovision, I can't remember one. It's on another scale from the Keiino incident
Many of the previous winners got hate comments. I remember that Netta had lots of dislikes and Conchita got a mixed reaction, too. But yeah, this feels like another level and as I said in the Sweden thread, maybe Sweden should withdraw from Eurovision at least for a while. From what I've seen in the last few years they're the most hated country in the bubble right now. I feel bad for them and Loreen. The Eurovision community really needs to chill.

Didn’t anybody notice that

Australia, Austria and Poland were 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Semi 2.
Estonia was 10th.

Finland and Sweden were 1st and 2nd in Semi 1.

Now look at the running order.
Australia, Austria and Poland got horrible slots, in contrary to Sweden and Finland.
Estonia got a great slot because they knew it would be drowned by the overly popular Italy. Two ballads of the same kind one after another made no sense.

Now that it was in favor of Sweden (and Finland) they suddenly stopped placing countries in slots which they belonged to by taking their placement in the semi into account.

Who thought of putting Estonia right after Italy?? This is such a rubbish choice, it is beneficial to neither of these two

Estonia is nice but I’m afraid it will not bring them any good performing after Italy

It's funny to think that them following up with each other would have cost them in a way. But no, both of them came top 5 in the jury vote. But ultimately, Italy got the upper hand with the televote (no surprise there and very much well-deserved).

I think it was a brazen move to show a table of historic number of wins this time. it hasn’t happened before, but this time it was meant to give away a spoiler that it’s gonna change.

I think it was because of Luxembourg...
