Offtopic: since NPO is doing host city reevaluation, do you think the host city race is quite tight at this moment?

What I understood is that it comes down to what kind of event they want. Do they want a modern, urban vibe to it (Rotterdam), or a historical, heart of Europe, vibe (Maastricht). The cities are like night and day, with Maastricht having a historic city center and Rotterdam (thanks to Germany) a more American city center with skyscrapers etc. That's the last thing I've heard, but I'm sure they're not telling us everything.

maybe an unpopular opinion, but 'Allez Ola Olé' is easy one of your best entries this century. It's just so fun and catchy and doesn't try to hide it in any way. Far superior than your previous 2 entries and on par with Amir and Alma, if not better.

As a french, I can't appreciate it that much because I feel like I've heard this type of song billions of time. I widely prefer 2001-2002, 2016-2019. I can understand why people from overseas love it, though, but as a french, It's just impossible.

And now some fans have speculated that Maastricht is already a locked choice, but NPO wanted to give them more time to make their bid better. If it's true, that's nuts.

Keyword here being "speculated". Have not seen anything about that in Dutch news.

Miles better than the horrible ''Amir - J'ai Cherché'' and some other terrible French entries but nowhere near as good as ''Alma - Requiem'' was.

I prefer the French entries from 2017, 2013, 2011, 2009, 2007 to "Allez Ola Olé" but it's one of the better entries from the 21st century, I agree.

For a long time I didn't even know it came from Eurovision, it still surprises me to see so many people liking this.
It's one of our few real upbeat songs, would be good if we sent another one in 2020.
