What have i told you about the number of participants? ;)

You were totally right, now i just hope/beg/pray for Croatia and San Marino! Then 41! AND NO WITHDRAWS!

Ukraine is such a big lose.

Poland confirmed the broadcasting of ESC 2015 but not yet the participation. Anyway I do hope Poland participate though.

in 2012 and 2013 we didn't participate and TVP didn't breadcast, so it's like a confirmation.

Most of these are saying preliminary participation. Why do I have a feeling we will see some countries actually saying they can't do in the deadline in October?

I don't expect that much changes - they are saying preliminary application, because according the rules it's indeed preliminary. Why boradcasters have to apply if they don't want taking part. Last year all countries that withdrew, with the sole exception of Bosnia, didn't sent their preliminary confirmations.

We should be patient.
We have a looong way to learn the final list of participants.
Will Croatia return?
Will San Marino say YES or NO?
Will EBU accept Greece?
Will Ukraine find money?
Will the new Turkish manager have a different opinion for Eurovision, from the last one?
Will EBU accept the other Moroccan broadcast?
Will Bosnia do what they did last year?
Will we have a surprise debut? (Kazakhstan or Kosovo or Tunisia or Australia)

I think we can also skip any discussion about tunesia or australia. That is not even close to a realistic Scenario for the moment.

Tunisia is EBU member, so it's not that unrealistic scenario.

Kosovo debut is ruled out. Sorry, but they are not even the country. Eurovision Song Contest is competition for real states.
Kazakhstan won't debut, because "country is outside the EBU's signal area" (or something like that :p)

I think the realistic scenario is at most 42 countries to take part in 2015 if Ukraine reverses its decision. The other options vary between "very unlikely at the moment, but theoretically possible" (the Arab members, Czech Rep., Slovakia) to "absolutely impossible" (Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Kosovo and so on).

Yes, but if Ukraine cant make it,
and also San Marino withdraws, and Croatia wont return,
and Greece will not be accepted, and Bosnia withdraws like last year,
then we will have only 37 countries (like last year)!

Add Israel to that list, they still need to find sponsors or something like that.

According to esctoday.com
Poland,Albania,Russia and Hungary have NOT confirmed participation.
So that means, the number of entries can be even 33 !

Have not confirmed to esctoday. From that bunch of countries, Hungary announced months ago just like Russia.

you have to read the post carefully. I wrote: for the moment. So in fact - it IS very unrealistic, EBU member or not. As long as Israel is taking part, no country of the middle east or northern Africa will participate. That has been stated a zillion times.
I'm getting a bit tired of the recurring discussion every year if those countries - who have never participated (like Tunesia) or only did it once (like Morocco) will return. Obviously against any reasonable odd. And don't get me wrong - I'd love to see those countries taking part. But it is not going to happen in the near future.
