We can't lose hope. Even if those countries don't confirm today they could have already sent the documentation as BGN said, and will only express their interest to the press later. They only way we can be sure they won't participate is if they publicly announce they won't.

Exactly. My guess is that most countries (i.e. all but Greece) have confirmed participation to the EBU by the deadline last night just to give themselves more time to deliberate on participation, and should make up their minds by the ultimate deadline. Another possibility, of course, is that some broadcasters may have confirmed participation with no intent to withdraw, but may not announce participation until they sort out some kind of NF and will announce both at the same time, in order to gain more publicity. There's not much to worry about.

Now that we have 36 confirmed countries, maybe (my eyes sparkle) we will get about 40 participants this year? 42 would be so awesome but that won't happen xcheer

I guess Poland and Moldova may be in, San Marino looks positive about participation but there is 50/50 possibility for me.

If Ukraine can participate in JESC 2014 why can't it for ESC 2015? I can't see why.

Croatia...Mmm...

And I fear at least one of the preliminarily confirmed countries (Serbia, Israel, Slovenia, BIH) will eventually withdraw.

So I guess we will have 38-39 participants this year, hopefully 40. If the number reaches 41 then it will be a super lucky year.

Czech Republic is never, ever coming back. No one is interested in it in Czech Republic (except for a few perhaps).

Now that we have 37 confirmed participants let's cross our fingers for it to go higher and not any lower, so that we'll at least have as many as this year xcheer xcheer

I'm really optimistic!
I really hope for Moldova, Poland, Ukraine, San Marino and Croatia to confirm participation in Vienna.
And let's cross our fingers for NO withdraws, then 42 countries will be in Austria, i'm really begging!

People thought the same about Italy. We can never say "never ever".

Why can't there be 42 countries?
