Morty First of all: Congratulations to you for the huge win against Croatia. I didnt expect Norway to be good enough to reach such a win against a big team like Croatia. Norway could have won even higher, as I saw there were some chances to make the 3rd goal at the end of the match.

I'm always rooting for Norway because I love Scandinavia and cheer for every nordic team (even for boring Denmark). However, I still don't really believe that you make it to the Euro next year to be honest. I guess Croatia will win both of their last matches. Bulgaria seems to be a harmless opponent and Malta is Malta. :D In that case Norway has to defeat Italy ... Well, probably Italy will be already qualified before the match against you, so that is positive for you. But nevertheless it's very hard to beat them. I saw the first match between Italy and Norway and there was a big quality difference between these teams.

Basically I think Norway will reach the 3rd place and qualify for the play-off matches. The problem for Norway is that I think they will be in the unseeded pot together with teams like Israel and Hungary and so on. You will get an opponent of the seeded pot, that might be Russia, Denmark or Ukraine... Norway has to overachieve to beat teams like those, but ofc there is a chance.

In general I'm delighted that Norway is taking steps forward again in football. Two clubs qualified for the group stage in the Europa League, national team reach some good results and you got talents like Martin Ödegaard. I think you guys don't have to be worried about the future, I just don't see you reaching the Euro. I hope I'll be wrong

Croatia was definitely the favorite, all they talked about in the match studio before the match was the quality of the Croatian players, and how good the team is. We would be happy with a draw, because that would mean we had a spot in the playoffs secured, since we've won both matches against Bulgaria. But to win, that was pretty amazing. :D At 1-0, I wasn't really convinced we'd win, but after the second goal, it looked like Croatia sort of collapsed, altho we were really lucky that Mario Mandžukić didn't score, he was really close a couple of times, and we could have lost if he had scored.

As for what's coming up, we pretty much agree. Croatia will most likely win both of their matches, so it all comes down to the match against Italy for us. I don't really think Italy will already be qualified, they have 3 points on Croatia, but they played 1-1 against eachother in both matches, and Croatia has a better goal difference. So Italy will probably need a draw, while we will need to win. I'm pretty sure Italy has this. Our only hope is really that Bulgaria can get a point (or 3) in their match against Croatia... So that means playoffs for us, and you saw our history. We've struggled with playoffs. We're ranked in the 60's on the FIFA list, so we will definitely be unseeded. On the other hand, if we can beat Croatia, and get a draw against Italy, we could also beat whoever we meet in the playoffs, as this is a momentum we haven't had in a LONG time. If we lose against Italy, I think we're done, tbh, we need the confidence from the last match when we go into the playoffs.

Thanks for the support, I haven't been this excited about our national team in over 10 years, so fingers crossed. ;)

Congrats for the win! xcheer  absolutely deserved to win today! Our team had absolutely no idea what to do on the field. It's what always happen with Croatia; it's a typical Croatian mentality: we were first in the group and we have underestimated Azerbaijan (even though I'd say their coach played a huge role in the draw, he was a legendary Croatian player) and Norway. And now we're in danger of having to go through play-offs. xfacepalm The Croatian players seemed absolutely unmotivated to me. A big amount of our players play in the best clubs and the level they showed today is on the level of some Pot 4 country. For example, Mario Mandžukić had 2-3 amazing chances to score the goal (when it was still 0:0) but he missed all of them. The other players were also far from their usual level. They wanted to play more defensively (in both matches), just to catch the result 1-0 but Croatia never wins when it plays this way round. Only Italy can play like that (they always win with a one-goal difference). We should attack until the last minute like we did in the first matches (6:0 against Azerbaijan and 5:1 against Norway). That kind of Croatia can go very far on the Euro 2016, I dare to say even to the last phases. We have one of the strongest (Croatian) teams ever and it would be a shame if we don't make the most out of it. Even though, Croatia needs a new, more experienced coach.

Anyway, I don't worry too much about qualifying to the Euro. I'm sure we will qualify in whichever way. I'd say Norway will qualify as well. I think the best ranked 3rd team will be from our group. In the end, even Italy could end 3rd if Norway won against them (and Croatia wins both matches of course).

Thanks! xcheer1

Mario Mandžukić had some incredible opportunities, so we were lucky he didn't score. You were really the best team when we scored our first goal, and I think that goal changed a lot in the match. After that, Croatia seemed to lose all confidence, and when we scored our 2nd, it was pretty much over. We still feared that you'd score a goal tho, as that would have given you a huge boost, and made the last minutes of the match a little too exciting for us...

But I still think you have better chances to get to the Euro 2016 than we do, whether it'll be as one of the top 2 teams, or in the playoffs. The question is, can we join you..? It's gonna be an exciting end to this qualifier, that's for sure. :D

My prediction which teams will reach the 3rd place:
:tr: :ba: :ua: :sc: :sl: :hu: :se:  :dk:

Some explanations: Bosnia will benefit from the fact that Wales will be already qualified on the last match day so Bosnia will be able to defeat them and this will be enough to overtake Israel. Scotland will defeat Poland and take the big step to the play-offs

At the moment it seems like Ukraine will go through directly as the best 3rd place, however they still gotta face Slovakia and Spain.
There could be an interesting "plot twist" in Group A: I think Turkey can defend the 3rd place and gain 4 points in the last two matches. 1 point against Czech and 3 against an unmotivated Iceland team. Then Turkey would have 16 points in total. Now imagine that Kazakhstan beat Latvia and overtake them on the last match day, so Latvia finish up on last place. As you know the points against the last place are not relavant for the 3rd place ranking. In that case Turkey "lose" only 2 points (1-1 & 1-1 against Latvia) instead of 6 points (3:1 & 1:0 against Kazakhstan). 16 points minus 2 = 14 points. I guess they would have decent chances to become best 3rd place. After all, It's just a speculation. Sometimes my brain does weird calculations like this :D

---------------------

Just like their fellows from Wales a day before also Northern Ireland missed the chance to qualify for the Euro. Instead of defeating Hungary they almost lost, which would have brought a lot of excitement in the group cause Hungary would have come close to them. However in the extra time they scored the equalizer and they have still very good chances to qualify in October.

Tomorrow, :at: has very good chances to qualify. If they win or draw against Sweden they are safe. Even a loss can be enough but only if Russia doesn't win against Liechtenstein.

Also :ch: can qualify but this is actually not realistic. They have to defeat England while Estonia and Slovenia reach a draw.

Another speculation: Ukraine has to face FYR Macedonia and on last match day the, most likely, already qualified Spain. Or they win tomorrow in Slovakia. However I think the 3rd place of Group C will end up with at least 21 points. Minus the 6 from the matches against the last place, they will end up with 15.

Portugal played very well in the 1st half but in the 2nd our offensive play was a bit worse. But thankfully we managed to score almost in the end of the match.

Now Portugal leads with 15 points, followed by Denmark with 12 and Albania with 11. However, Denmark only has one game to play, here in Portugal, while Portugal and Albania have 2: Portugal with Denmark and Serbia and Albania with Serbia and Armenia.

All things considered I think it's very likely Portugal and Albania will qualify directly, because it only takes Portugal winning against Denmark and Albania tying one of their matches for this to happen, which would be cool because it means we will have another debuting nation that no one saw coming! It's also very possible that the best 3rd placed team will come from this group.

:at: joins the club of qualified teams, Glückwunsch :D

4:1 win in an away match against Sweden. What a demolition
Tha late goal from Zlatan might be annoying for Austria because otherwise it would have been their 6th match in a row with a clean sheet, nevertheless they played a nearly perfect campaign never expected them to dominate the group so cleary. I'm glad especially for Zlatko Junuzovic who plays for my favorite club Werder Bremen :)

Sweden looks poor in the last few matches. I wrote to some Swedes and they blame Hamren for the bad development and they wish Lagerbäck to come back...
Maybe in the next year they need a big personell change, intregrating some more players of the Under 21 national team that won the trophy this summer.
I still hope they qualify for the Euro. In the playoff matches they are supposed to be among the seeded teams, that will be an advantage for sure.

Rooney the greatest goalscorer for England with 50 goals now. I hope Switzerland losing helps Slovenia qualify.

Btw, I feel bad for San Marino. :( They scored a goal today and they were close to get a draw against Lithuania. Unfortunately in the extra time Lithuania scored the winning goal. That would have been already the second point for San Marino in this campaign...

Situations like this make me rage SOOC Isn't this about time they got rid of extra time? Did anyone follow the latest North American Gold Cup? Apparently, in one match there was a 10-minute extra time given xrofl3

Well Hamrén is one big problem, biggest clown in swedish football history IMO, but the team itself is too weak. After Ibrahimovic, we have really noone that can meet up in level to him and that makes, that the players start to think Zlatan will do everything and Zlatan expects at times passes that the others may not be able to do.
If not we qualify or if we do and fail in France next year, then Hamrén needs to go. We need to start fresh, especially since I think that France 16 is the last championship for Ibrahimovic. I think we still can qualify, if we are lucky with the play-off draw. Hopefully a surprise loss for Russia and we are back in 2nd place! :D

In 2005, 16-min extra time were given in the last match of the season (our biggest rival's match) in Turkish league. I was almost getting a heart attack!
