These 3 minutes are very long. The song is boring and her voice is harsh.

Well, no surprise winner in the end, things went as expected. Would have been nice to see Ollie win, but I'm fine with Alika too. :giggle: Actually had my top 3 as the superfinalists, can't really complain I suppose. Jury putting Bedwetters that high was a bit of a surprise tho'. The song is good, but their vocals weren't really all that great, I thought they'd be docked points for that. But then again, Eesti Laul final juries tend to be all over the place anyway. And they've given songs with shoddy vocals high places before, Wingman comes to mind. It was nice to see Bedwetters do well, but it likely cost Ollie his victory in the end, oops. Well, we'll never know for certain, but since it wasn't some overwhelming landslide, having all the rock fans behind one song may have been enough. Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess. :giggle: Just unfortunate luck! Most years we don't get a single good rock song in EL, and now we get two nice ones.. and they sink each-others chances.

I think Ollie had better vocals in the final, but IMO they overdid it with the shaky blurry camera effects a little. He said he plans to be back to EL, if he has the right song. I hope he'll come back with another good one! :giggle: And maybe the stars will align better that year! Also hope him and Bedwetters doing so well this year will encourage more good rock bands and artists to take part. Just.. maybe not all in one year!

I guess now we have to wait and see what happens when May rolls around. :D Still have no solid idea what Alika's chances might be! We'll have a better picture once we get all the songs. If we don't get too many strong ballads, she could certainly have an audience.. there are ballad lovers out there after all, even among televoters. But too early to tell at this point. I hope she'd have enough fans to sneak in the final at least, where jury love might be enough for another mid-table result. :giggle: The televote part of the voting could be a bit of a let down, but hey, getting some point from juries for 30 minutes would still be nice. But I wouldn't necessarily rule out a decent televote score either. Really could go any which way.

Let's hope they won't mess up the staging. Shouldn't be too hard to have something simple and classy for a ballad like this, seems harder to ruin than something up-tempo and complicated. But you never know with our delegation. Some lovely dramatic lighting, good camera angles, maybe something cool on the LED screens. Alika said her first thought about Eurovision after winning was 'how are we going to get the piano to Liverpool'. And she'd like to have it there! But whether it'll be feasible, who knows. Maybe her label will fork out some money, since our staging budget is probably 10€. :D I guess we'll see! But I hope they'll manage something lovely and impactful that fits the song. With televoters, having good staging to complete the package will be a big help. :giggle:

Best selection I've seen to this moment along with Spain. Several possible decent choices , which is more that I can say for mostly every other country, but I think they have chosen well and wisely. As ballads go, this is a banger and caught my attention immediately. The build up was very emotional and exciting, bearing some little surprises too. Can't get the meaning of those saying this is dull... Really? Her voice is superb (you'd never know by looking at her) all the way through. Juries will love it and there are enough public who will as well. 12 deserved points and one of the best songs selected so far imo.

One of the best NF i have seen

My ranking about the songs

Meelik: A cool song. Good to hear something in Estonian and they gave a good performent. 7/10
Inger: Ok songs who get a lille bit lost in this big final, Still nothing bad about it 6/10
Janek: This is a really good pop songs and Janek sings very well. In many other national final this would probably be my number 1 8/10
Elysa: I like Fire better, but still this was OK. But that was also the big problem with songs. It did not stand out 6/10
M Els: I love the melody and like the rest of the songs too. Think it would deserved better than 9 place. 8/10
Bedwettes: Amazing performent and a really like they songs. 9/10
Andreas: This get lost for me on the night. A little bit boring (sorry) 5/10
Alika: What a VOICE. She was amazing live. The song is ok, but she sold it really good 8/10
Anett and Fredi: Get lost after Alika and before Ollie. Not bad but just something who did not stand out 5/10
Ollie: WHAT A SONG. I love this song so much. I,m so sorry this not going to eurovision. Maybe the camera work was not perfect, but this songs should have been in Eurovision :( 9/10
MIA: Another ok entry, but get lost after better songs 6/10
Sissi: Wow. Another amazing voice. She sold her entry so good. I get goosebumps after her performent. 9/10

My list
1. Ollie
2. Bedwettes
3. Sissi
4. Janek
5. Alika
6. M Els
7. Meelik
8. Elysa
9. Inger
10. Mia
11. Andreas

If she's making it to the final she has a good chance ending up top 10.
There won’t probably be many ballads this year and we have juries in the final.
Yes, Bridges is similar to some Eurovision songs we‘ve had in the past, yet it’s not a bad song. I love her voice, how the song builds up. It’s the usual Eurovision ballad only with a darker, more indie vibe to it. Love it! The beginning reminds me a bit of Agnes Obel. Still 12 points from me and I‘m sure she‘ll keep them for the rest of the time until May. I‘m a sucker for great voices and a nice ballad! :)

She has a great voice, but the song is too simple. It could have been amplified with a unique instrument or richer production, but it's very middle of the road as it stands. With no juries in the semis, Estonia is in danger. Well idk, there are few countries participating this year so maybe it will qualify.

Im not one to judge but wasn't Stripper your favourite song last year
It was my personal favorite yes, but I didn't say ot was the BEST song EVER at ESC. That's a huge difference. And Lasse claims as it is objective. And I admit: I love trash now and then! ;)

So the top 3 was pretty consistent across all voting rounds & semis. I do hope ERR draws some conclusions from the low voting numbers and lowers the price for next year. Otherwise the SIM-card queens & kings will start popping up all over the place! Not that we haven't had them before, but the less voters we have, the easier for them to succeed. Elysa & Mia both seem very suspicious, being so high in the semi televote only to have their votes all but disappear in the final. At least the jury did it's job and kept them out until round 3 I guess.

Checked all the Excels in that article and all seems quite legit.

Except for one thing - how the hell Mia got so many public votes in SF1 in the first round and nowhere near as much in the second voting round (and in the final)? Just curious...
