Ollie narrowly missed victory, just like Sonne in Denmark. They both had a good rock song, but I think the songs stayed just a bit too much within their genre. They appealed to people who like rock, but they didn't catch the attention of people who are not rock fans (not enough at least).

Thus, Estonia ended up with Alika as the winner. Although I like the style of music, I think this song fails at critical points, so I have given it a temporary 2 (maybe I'll manage to tolerate the annoying parts better in the coming months).

Good voice. Funny that this song is pretty boring but every time it loses my attention there was something hunting in the melody and attention come back :D
It loses me at the "of briiiiidgeeeees" part, everytime. She really should have found a way to avoid this annoyingly predictable ending to the chorus.

I see it came in second, just like Sonne in Denmark. That's what I base it on.
Doesn't mean it was close though does it, just look at Eesti Laul 2009 to see that coming second doesnt mean you were close, lets see what the actual results were

I don't want to be disrespectful but could it be true that Alika won because (very sizable) Russian minority (I think around 30% of people in Estonia are those) voted en masse for her?
That might have been a small factor, but the main reason was Ollie and Bedwetters both ending up in the Superfinal. Otherwise, the winner might have been Ollie, quite easily imo. Now the votes were split.
Hell, even in our family they were split  Half of us voted for Ollie, half for Bedwetters!

No. She's very popular with the Estonians. The ethnic Estonians.

The song itself is ok, more or less middling. The kind of thing that either has the power to be lifted or dragged down by the vocals of the performer. Unfortunately for me it leans much more towards the latter. I find the singing on the track forced (almost unpleasant at times to listen to) and there's some bad vocal habits here, paired with a slapdash delivery. I feel as though having the song in English doesn't help and that perhaps it would have been more palatable in Estonian.

It was said live that Bedwetters got 25% of the Superfinal votes. Alika got 42%. That means Ollie got 33%. Can't say it was a landslide win, but yes - win is a win. 32 000 voters in Superfinal, btw.

Does the superfinal exist for any reason other than to provide ETV with another source of money

I guess the main reason is money  On the other hand, since it's 100% televote, the organizers want to make it absolutely SURE that the most wanted by the people is the winner.
