If somebody from Leto Svet is in jury like in the semi final 1...I can't..:ROFLMAO:

The jury for the final will be international, like last year! So no Leto Svet guys. But we might get another random bunch of American songwriters.

I think Uku shirked the EL rules of having the song authors be 50/50 locals and foreigners. He had Kirkorov & his dream team write the song, but can't list them all as authors since that would break the rules. :sneaky: So he picked one and pretends the others are just 'helping out' and 'part of the team'. Well, that's my conspiracy theory anyway.

That's probably what Laura did as well. On Spotify the song has only listed the two Finnish songwriters. Pretty sure Laura doesn't get any royalties from the song. A mess.

None of the performers of Leto Svet were in the jury. It was the composer of the Leto Svet but the same man also wrote Kaelakee Hääl, Diamond of Night and Sandra's last year's song among other entries. It's like calling Sven Lõhmus, the composer of Rändajad, somebody from Let's Get Loud. And there will be international jury anyway.

Traffic have the most streamed song of Eesti Laul 2020 on Spotify in Estonia, Jaagup is 2nd and Uku is way behind them

Honestly, Uku's 2017 song and maybe even performance were better than this one.

And with the Kirkorov connection and Uku apparently attempting to build a career in Russia, I wouldn't be surprised if we run into our own "uncomfortable questions" about politics and whatnot.

Synne and Jaagup are like two pearls in a national final full of potential NQ's.
If Uku really wins the televote, I'll doubt Kirkorov and his team are buying votes.

Tumblr, mostly.
god are we still discussing who wins.

Jaagup wins. Easily. BY FAR. It's only a formality by now. Give it a rest.

If Uku, the obvious televoting 12 is somehow kept out of the super final, I can even see Traffic winning over Jaagup. Especially if the jury hypes it up, which I can see happening. The song really stands out.
Uudo and Stefan will be surprise flops I guess.

Has it ever actually happened in Eesti Laul that the song that gets most of the televotes in the first round doesn't win in the end?

A few times, I believe. All of these have been close calls tho', no 'overwhelming favourite' has ever flopped. That would only be possible thanks to juries I guess. If a song gets major support in round one, it's unlikely that would change in round two.

In 2009, Laura got the most votes in round 1 but juries kept her from the superfinal. The only time in Eesti Laul history juries actually changed the winner.
In 2010, Lenna had 19 votes more in round 1. But in Round 2, Siren won instead.
In 2013, Grete Paia had the most votes in round 1, and Winny Puhh also had more votes than Birgit. Grete & Birgit made the superfinal and Birgit won in the end.
In 2014, Super Hot Cosmos Blues Band had more votes in round 1, but Tanja won in round 2.
Since then, things have been pretty stable. Having 3 people in the superfinal has contributed to that I guess. Last year came closest to causing an upset with Victor barely making the superfinal.

With the 3-song superfinal tho', it's much harder to vote against anyone. Angry Uku fans might vote for someone else out of spite, if they have money to burn. But their votes would be split so Jaagup could still win.

After the semi results, Uudo and Stefan flopping won't really be that much of a surprise. Considering they were both in jury top 4 but failed to make the final in round 1, they clearly didn't have that great of a televote score. Midtable at best for those two I guess.

This + changing the points from 8, 9 and 10 to 8, 10 and 12. Victor would have not even made top 3 with the old ranking system, similar to how Ithaka Maria and Sandra Nurmsalu were robbed. The new point system makes way more sense though, so no complaints here.

The 2 act super final was much more suspenseful because you never knew who the disappointed fans would choose. Seems like Winny Puhh voters preferred Birgit and Sandra Nurmsalu fans went for Tanja. :D
