Guess it was a well deserved victory for Storm. I never knew he was such a big favourite.

Stig's shade at the jurors is not cool though. "Tried googling them but couldn't find anything". The list included a Berklee College tutor, successful and professional songwriters, producers of other national finals etc. A very dumb thing to say. At least he redeemed himself by saying "maybe it's time for us to look in the mirror". But even that gave a rude vibe to be honest.

Wow. This is great. Is not many songs i like this year. But Estonia and Spain is great.

Live is great and i hope they keep this like in Estonia final. Then i could be top 10 for Estonia :)

Storm always came off as a pretty big favourite to me based on general feedback. Nothing is ever set in stone until the show is over, but all signs pointed to Victor being the likeliest televote winner IMO.

I'm reserving full judgement on the jury until we see what happens in May. If they were right, fair enough. If not, give them the boot and find better people.

Clever thing to do would be to comb through juries from other/previous NFs and Eurovision itself, find the people who have most often voted for songs that ended up doing really well and ask them. No point asking for someone's opinion whose taste ends up being very different from that of the real Eurovision jury, even if they are professionals in their own right. But well, we'll have to wait and see if Victor's dismal jury score was a sign of things to come or not.

Proper Eurovision tune  It isn't great but it wouldn't be Eurovision without an entry like this every year :D 4 points for Estonia.

This is how the votes would like pre superfinal using the Melfest system.

This is why I'd prefer the MF system without a superfinal. Big favorites who receive lots of votes can obviously still win, but juries have a bigger say than right now.
It was especially pointless to have a super final for Elina last year, but get that coin I guess.

Isn't money the only reason why superfinals exist? I thought so.

-Grete was last with the Juries and 2nd with the Televoter and still didnt qualify via Round 2

I really think that format for the first round of voting is completely outdated. The votes should always be distributed according to the percentages.
FdC still uses this EL format (minus the super-final) with no indication of a change coming in the near future and it's one of the small things that still annoys me about our NF.

i actually am not sure if i prefer the melfest format or the eesti laul format. honestly it depends on whether i agree more with juries or televoters on the day lol.

Yeah this is really odd. 2752 votes in the 1st round vs 1230 in the 2nd for Grete.

Voting was already open before her actual performance in SF (like in the Final), so maybe there were many voters who gave her their votes before her performance, but after seeing her decided they are done with this shit :)

... or maybe Grete had bought people to vote for her in the first round of voting, but forgot to do it for the 2nd round (or just enough time for one person to vote many times)

Storm gets well deserved 8 points from me. A very good pop song and a very safe choice for another top 10 placing for :ee:

If Storm reaches top 10 it must be an extremely weak year. I mean, La Forza was only 8th and there were many good songs behind her  Same for GTY becoming 7th.

I can see it borderline qualifying but that's about it.

Well, when I first heard all the EL songs, I also thought Storm could make top 10. Catchy, well produced, makes you want to dance. Something for both the televoters and the juries to appreciate. Yes generic, but it's not like generic hasn't made top 10 past years.
But that was before his horrid vocals. Now I see why the IJ only ranked him 9th. The big problem is his high notes, which sound truly terrible.. I hope they can cover the high notes with some backing singers or something. Apart from his high notes, his vocal isn't too bad. Not great, but not awful either. Nonetheless I think people are being way too harsh on Storm, sometimes it seems to me like they are listening to Leto Svet, reading from the comments.

I mean his vocals were quite bad in the SF but in the final I didn't see or hear any obvious problems... In my opinion the performance in the final was much better than in the SF!

Yes well it's easier to be sound Not Worse if you're drowned out by our own backing track.

Nice to see you have walked from "If we select Storm, I want us to fail" to "I can see it borderline qualifying"

... give it few more weeks and it will be top 5 material :D
