We will choose our song in Eesti Laul 2014 again (I hoped for new selection format!)... I hope we don't send a ballad again... This year juries weren't asked to choose suitable song for Eurovision, they were asked to choose good Estonian song (heard it from some interview with a jury member).

I suppose that's so because Estonia greatest sucesses in Eurovision lately have been "good Estonian songs" (Randajad and Kuula)

And to drop my three pence I think what I'd want for :ee: is something more electronic, like Grete Paia and "Paastke noored hinged" this year. That song was awesome. I wouldn't mind a song like "Randajad" as well.

Which is a good thing, of course. Don't fix it if it's not broken.

I really don't have an idea who will come back. I hope that Teele Viira will be there for some reason again. It's most likely to see new faces this year.
And also Sven Lõhmus is not sure if he should send a song or not. Let's see.

Does anyone think Iiris (Eurolaul 2008, Eesti Laul 2010) would be interested in having another go?

Just happened upon her more recent stuff.

Maybe. She signed an international record deal with EMI and released her debut album last year. Four track Chinaberry Girl EP was released just a few weeks ago.

Mart Normet, head of ETV's entertainment department, producer of Eesti Laul and our head of delegation announced he'll take a six-month vacation starting from November. This means he will miss Eesti Laul 2014 and probably ESC too. I guess Heidy Purga, the other producer of Eesti Laul, has to return full time. She wasn't very active last year due to maternity.

Glimmering is such a masterpiece !
Astronaut would have already been a great entry in 2010. It was my favorite one.

But I don't believe Iiris would now enter Eesti Laul as she tours in Finland...

I don't think Iiris will participate. I'm trying to get some news from first source, I mean the singers. No one says a word.
