Rolf Roosalu is the Estonian Claudia Fanniello.
Maybe the estonians are tired of him. Or he's an annoying spoiled singer.

"He has also, yet unsuccessfully, competed to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest six times (2008–13).[2][3] In 2010 when the contest was held in Oslo, he announced the Estonian televoting results to the other countries."

Really? Why?

1) He always sends übergeneric tailored for some hypothetical eurovision audience songs to eesti laul which simply are not that popular in Estonia as they are generic and bland and don't have anything to do with estonian music scene
2) He has annoying voice
3) He is not known for much else than eurovision stuff in Estonia which makes him kinda a non authentic wannabe.
4) There is simply nothing which would be that likeable about him

1. Rolf Roosalu is not participating in 2014, see the first page of this thread.
2. SpZ is over reacting, Rolf is not hated in Estonia.

I never said that he is hated. I said that he is not liked. As in I do not know anyone who would actually listen to his music other than some big eurovision fanatics nor has he got any major hit in Estonia afaik.

His entry with Violina the other year was awesome and should have won, other than that I never liked any of his attempts xshrug

I hope we will choose an entry that is memorable, catchy and suitable for Eurovision. Not something like in 2013, when only neighbors gave us points! :?
And I don't think that ballads work for many times in a row... I hope we will have a good national final with some WOW-effect songs, not like this year. :)

Ithaka Maria should get a new shot, "Hop'a'parei" was memorable... if she'd enter something equally cool (but less repetitive) it'd be great! She has the vocals, looks, charisma and stage-presence going for her...

Agree, hopaparei was good and even somewhat ethnic sounding.

Ethnic? Other than the language, there was nothing "Estonian" about it.

Grete Paia's second single, follow-up to her successful Eesti Laul 2013 entry "Päästke noored hinged" will be released on Monday. It's called "San Sebastiano", it's uptempo, it's written by Sven Lõhmus, and it's in Estonian.

Grete promises more songs written by herself to be released in the fall and she doesn't dismiss the possibility of returning to Eesti Laul contest next year.
