I also think that the new way of announcement makes more people look like losers than winners.

Well said. It's basically made to highlight the moments when contestants get a smaller than expected amount of votes. In the previous system the hosts went through the bottom 16 televotes quickly and then they focused on the televote's top ten = focusing on the happy news. Now the focus is on who from the jury favourites gets a smaller amount of votes which makes even a respectable televoting result (e.g. Sweden) seem like a failure.

It's not PED that I have right now, it's PEF (Post-Eurovision Fatigue). I had so many late nights following rehearsals, press polls, news stories and whatnot, and then watching the delayed broadcasts of the shows on TV hours after watching them on live stream. But in the end, it was worth it

There were things that I loved about the shows this year, such as Kutiman's video montages during the semis (genius!), Shalva Band's interval during SF2 (magical), the grand final opening (really cool), and some that I didn't, like Madonna's off-key performance. Other than that, KAN did a great job for their first crack at organizing the contest after a year of being Israel's new broadcaster, and the hosts were quite good... especially Assi and Lucy

The winning song, what more can I say. As soon as "Arcade" was revealed as the Dutch entry back in March, the stars just aligned perfectly for the Netherlands and it carried them and Duncan to a well-deserved victory. Despite not winning either the jury vote or the televote, it gained enough support from both sides to push it over the top, including receiving televote points from every single country.

I can't wait to hear more of Duncan's songs, this is just the beginning of something amazing for him

consensus seems like not possible?

People always want consensus, that's why people want there to be a favourite and a favourite winning. People can then say they supported a winner and that everyone agreed with them. The reality is, in any kind of art, there is a variety of things and enjoying the variety of different styles (rather than just what is more fashionable) can be inconvenient for some but I suspect it's a hell of a lot more enjoyable. To me there's normally several different winners at Eurovision. What you find often with 'the winner' is that they can be a massive compromise, something that while some may be crazy about the majority find ok but not necessarily individual enough to be amazing to them.

Really stupid. They should've just banned Belarussian results like Macedonian and Montenegrin from 2015. I don't accept this. Totally uncredible.

A new kind of corrected votes.

1976: :fr: forgot to award :4: to anyone, afterwards it was revealed that :yu: should have gotten them which was corrected and pushed  to last place

1996: :es: spokesperson awarded :6: to "Holland" (:nl:) but this was mistaken as :pl: instead, when corrected, :nl: and :uk: switched places

1998: the televoting in :es: got technical problems and :de: who should have had :12: didn´t got a single point, after corrected, :de: finished 7th ahead of  instead of other way around

You know - it pushed Norway out and Sweden into the top 5 so it's good I guess. :? All these bias are just unbelievable.

In fact, the most justified is to recongize both Sweden and Norway in top 5, with asterisc.
As well as Slovenia/Cyprus, France/Malta, North Macedonia/Azerbaijan, Estonia/San Marino and Germany/Belarus.

It is stupid to tell somebody, "oh, you are not 7th, you are 8th" and such.

I accept votes without Belarus jury - not anything modified. And i believe most of fans.

EDIT: One thing more - did we saw this in live broadcast? Yes. It is a bit harder to correct it then with just a little statement.
These are the results, you had full day to check jury votes.

but it's not the first time they correct the scoreboard post-show. it happened in 1998 when spain fucked up their vote and snubbed germany when in fact they were meant to get spain's 12. ebu rectified this and the official scoreboard is different from the one you watch on youtube.

I was always wondering why :md: got only 5 from the italian TV. Looks like :lt: was robbed.

results-italy-ebu.jpg

So ankward, as if the correction of the final results were not embarassing enough for EBU, and since :lt: and :dk: would have ended up on the same amount of points, the televote score would have been tie-breaker, which would have meant :lt: going to the final instead of :dk: :oops::oops::oops:

I can only see one solution at the moment and that is giving :lt: a ticket for the final next year (meaning we will have 27 countries in the final)

:pl: also should get a Ticket, so 28 Finalists.

But in that case, it was a jury member (still bad though) But of course, this has to make EBU have at least 10 members in each national jury

but it´s more bad that a large amount of people voted for :lt: in :it: so they got :1: which would have given a final ticket

Wow. I can't believe that so much did go wrong with the voting this time.

Poland and Lithuania need to get a direct spot in the Final 2020 and the EBU should change the rules for the juries, e.g. letting them rank their own personal Top 10 only, asking/demanding the heads of delegation to check if each jury member puts his or favourite as #1, etc.
