:es: I think they're one of the safest. Not really a contender for the win, but Miki's song is a summer hit that will appeal to people. Top 15 at worst. (Or they'll completely fail and end up in the bottom 5 again, but let's hope for once)
:it: Strong contender for the win, unless they completely miss the staging I don't see them out of top 10.
:fr: A bit of a wildcard here, hard to predict. The jury may kill us and the televoting may not be enough to save us (so I guess a top 15 would already be great).
:uk: Michael's voice can definitely lift up the performance and give us a nice suprise. They need a good staging, though.
:de: We'll have to wait for the results of the semis, but it will be hard to get noticed. Unfortunately, I don't expect much from them.
:il: If they weren't the host country it may have worked, but with the song as it is it won't be enough for people to mass vote for it. Bottom 3.

I don't know about the other years, but yeah, the executive rehearsals show a lot.

I couldn't care less about Madonna, I never watch the interval acts, but I don't see the problem with an internatioal artist being there. It has be done before and will be again. Is she still relevant nowadays, that's another question...

Am I the only one fearing huge lackluster when it comes to the audience in the semis and final? The golden circle is going to be minimized, they cancel the Green room tickets or seats in general, no flags ... I fear its going to be Azerbaijan 2012 all over again where there was literally NO energy in the room or Stockholm 2016 when there were like so many seats empty that it looked horrible on camera. :?

The view pictures really shows how small the venue is.

The stage is fine but the bridges left and right are really ugly and unnecessary.

They really annoy me in some of these snippets :?

Also, what's the point of far shots if there will be no flags at all??

The wide shots arent that bad, yet itll be cringey if there arent enough people in the venue to make it look crowded. And I definitely see that happening which will be awkward.

I think that Portugal is being heavily criticised and for no reason. It feels like Belgium 2017 all over again. AAAAAAND... I kinda feel that 90% of the stagings are really bad this year, and this is due to poor camerawork and light. It's a common theme in almost all the snippets I've saw. I really hope they can make this work at the end of the day. I don't think the problem is only in Portugal, it's an overall feeling. Wide shots from the staging, you can't see the performers and very poor lighting. The production this year is a little bit disappointing I'm afraid :(

The production and camera work is not bad, it is really really really bad overall, It´s very annoying seeing this camera view over the whole auditorium in every song, was that a demand from KAN?

KAN must be veeeeeery proud of it's stage (I wouldn't though). I mean, the arena is veeeeeery small, do you really wanna showcase it? I feel like I am in a movie theater. Why showcase it? The only logical reason is that the stage and venue are so small, that you just can't do anything in there and the only thing that is available is wide camera shots that make 0 sense.

Like Sweden did an amazing job doing eurovision in a small venue. Why can't KAN do the same?

I'm reaching a point where I have no idea of who the winner is going to be, because every snippet that I see is making entries weaker. Cyprus, Switzerland, Portugal, Armenia... Or even Greece! I mean they do have wonderful costumes, etc... but the camera work? Sooo not good.

Tumblr, mostly.
They'll stop with the wide shots once their free ticket handouts collapse onto their petty faces, lest they show off their empty as fuck arena...x

I've read that KAN is offering free tickets (semi finals and rehearsals) for people living up to 40km close to Gaza due to solidarity.
These seats won't remain empty

I'm still not getting this camera thing. Is it really going to be like this in the final? Or are they just having technical difficulties during the rehearsals? And why are some entries having more issues with that than others?

I have read they do it know to show the staging, and that the camerawork will be different in the semifinals en final. Not sure though.
