Its true but they are giving more freedom to countries that cannot think a clever staging so i think we need them.

I think LED should stay because there are some great stagings with just LED if done right. I really love the staging for Austria 2016 and Montenegro 2015.
But it's not an excuse for lazy or crap staging.

Anyone knows where the press-conference video after the rehearsal will be posted or if there will be live coverage of them?
The press-conferences didn't start today also?

The only thing I'm f***ing, is stupid
LEDs were used to be breathtaking and innovative when it was new.
Olsen Brothers showed the way of doing it, the LEDs elevated the staging without being too distracting for the staging as a whole.

Herd mentality never works if you want to execute innovation in a proper way.

I don't know why people complaining about LED screens. Last year we had no screens in the background and I don't feel like the stage looked more serious or professional. We had so much more patchy lights, bulbs, fires on the stage and for me it was so much more flashy and messy. It's EuroVISION, so if someone wants to use led, just let them do it. If we want just a song contest without effects, maybe we should place the singers in front of a grey wall.

For me LED's are okay and I wish that they will be very well used.

From the bit I've seen, this marks the third year we'll have a deep blue scoreboard. I'm always disappointed by the ESC graphic team. There could be much more, a backdrop animation, something more elaborated and colorful... no, just copy-paste the same thing over and over. A creative being dies inside everytime the same thing goes repetitive.

I agree, there must be some other kind of type than "Gotham" that has been used since 2013

That was one of the main reasons (except the music, excitement and so on) which made me like ESC, that every year had it´s own look in every way, from graphic, staging, scoreboard, sounds.

But nowadays, the graphic is as you say mostly copy/paste and that´s so sad

It feels like Dark blues and purples are the EBU colour choices so Everyone has to follow it. Which is such a shame really. For me the 2012 and 2015 scoreboards stand out a lot because at least they looked different in some way to what we see now. The logo game as well, with the horrifically cheesy slogan. :? I remember seeing pictures of loads of different logo designs for 2017 that looked great that were red, yellow, green etc but instead they had their hand forced for that blue one with the meh bead thing. I guess their idea is to keep the continuity of the designs instead of mismatched but the changing designs and patterns is what helped made each Eurovision feel different and exciting.

In 2015, Microsoft provided the graphics, probably one reason why the scoreboard looked more different, otherwise it´s copy/paste which is such a shame.

Every contest should look different in graphics, scoreboard and so on, I mean ESC has a standard logo, that´s enough

I don't really care. Never really listened to Madonna, she's way before my time. Curious though.

How did I miss this shade when it happened. Positively brutal. I love it.

How do you mean? I am born in 2001, she had her prime in the 80's - 90's. So...Literally before my time (which is now)

Well...
There’s this mythos Madonna likes to surround herself with that she is not only still very much a hitmaker and still relevant but as much of a hitmaker and as relevant as she was back then. It’s not really based in much of anything, but she really tries very hard to keep it going (often by dragging other artists to keep her name in the conversation). I loved your comment because of how efficiently it destroyed that.
