Well, looking at the floor plan I do think there will be people standing there as well. Too much wasted space otherwise.

Another stupid system for bying tickets, making it quite impossible to buy if you dont have some inside information.
The tickets just went on sale at 19.00 CET today. I received a mail this morning. As soon as I got home I logged on, 3 hours before the tickets went on sale. There was already more than 39 000 people ahead of me in line.
And at 19.00 there was no randomly given new number... I was still number 39 thousand and something. Right now I am number 34 240.
I havent found any information about when it was actually possible to get in line, 3 hours before the tickets went on sale? 5 hours? This morning? I am sure someone knows though...

Sorry to hear that. Went through a similar frustration when trying to get 2016 tickets

NO FLAGS? But Eurovision is about fabulous music/performances combined with a sea of flags, a crowd filled with joy and pride. Jessica Mauboy even made a guest appearance from Australia in 2014 with a song about it.

Remember the same thing, I even got a "Error" while trying to make my purchase for a grand final ticket I found at the very last batch of tickets. But thankfully it went good

The reason why they're doing it is because the hall is so small there would be no way to get good camera angles without the flags obstructing the view.

It's going to be really really weird to see Eurovision shows without flags, it's such a big part of the spirit of the competition. Hopefully they'll find a way to have them back.

What's the point of your comment? It's basically a list of your personal favourites I guess? For me this would be quite a shitty list tbh, what's the big improvent of having basically 80% female solo artist as you kinda suggest? Eurovision is about male and female artists, bands, duos, ... And what's so bad about the selected entries anyway? I mean there always are some peole screaming "20xx is the worst year!!!" but hey... let's get real please. And just to add that point, why on earth would have Sandra or Barbora deserved to win with their bland snoozefest?

Simply fantasising. Although I don’t quite understand the logic behind stating that the Sandra’s and Barbora’s songs are “bland snoozefests” whilst apparently being content with the likes of Bilal, Lake Malawi, Zala&Gasper, Carousel etc. in the contest. Oh well, like I said - just a dream. Nothing can be done though, all I can do is support those songs which I do enjoy.

Tumblr, mostly.
Different people, different preferences, different tastes.

It really is as simple as that.

The "This Year Is Rubbish" bandwagon is overblown tho. I'm not in love with it either, but it is enjoyable as of now. As Alaska (once again) truthfully pointed out, we've too deeply gone down the rabbit hole of slamming onto a year which, in reality, is still easily better than 2011/2012. For people who think this selection is bad, I'm looking forward for when you have to force yourself through an actual shitty year of Eurovision. Most of you wouldn't survive Dublin1995 or Paris1978 intact by the sound of it.

Of course, when the first batch of songs are underwhelming according to whichever musical standard you've unwisely chosen to project onto them, it creates a snowball effect where every entry, no matter how you slice it, is going to underwhelm you. In other words, you're creating a narrative in which songs suck not because they suck, but because you have been expecting them to suck. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy and one of your own making.

Sometimes it's better to just be happy with what you have and see what happens, rather than jump to brash conclusions. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life gives you Lausanne1989, use a blowtorch. But if you truly desire to continue torturing yourself over events you've had zero control over, by all means, be my guest. God bless you and shalom.

Almost every year we have the "this year is bad" discussion, and i've been on the defending side in 2014,2015,2016,2017.. But not this year xshrug

*most of us agreed on 2018 being good..xheat (at least that was my impression)

So this is a very ballad or midtempo kind of year. We have not a lot of bops, uptempo songs to dance to.
Uptempo: :cz: :ee: :it: :es: :be: :cy: :fi:(Belgium and Italy being kind of uptempo, yet slow)
The countries I expect to send a fast song: :am: :gr: :mk: :md:  :ru: :se: :ch: :az: :sm:

Yet I am not too sure if Greece will be danceable, Macedonia even fast or Azerbaijan or Switzerland given the fact we dont know their singers. I cannot see more uptempo songs emerging within the next couple of days. I even consider Sweden, Moldova and Norway going for a ballad. It'll be interesting to see. I think the ones sending a fast song could stand a chance to really stand out. What do you guys think?

Well I do find this year a bit bad so far but I'm fairly confident I will like Russia, Poland and to a lesser extent Finland's entry.

Really hectic a week and a half coming. Hopefully, we finally get some contenders. Obviously expecting Russia and Sweden to send potential winners, but maybe also from The Netherlands.
