Meh, I struggle to see Sweden winning this year but I think John would be a great choice to once again do a top 10 for Sweden at least
For now I can see maybe Cyprus challenging Russia because we all know that the staging's gonna look bomb in Tel Aviv

So far the year is not bad but not good either! If the remaining countries do correct decisions then we are going to have a good year!

If Sweden send John Lundvik, then they have a sizeable chance to win.

The countries I expect to send a fast song: :am: :gr: :mk: :md:  :ru: :se: :ch: :az: :sm:
Greece is a midtempo, Russia is confirmed to be a ballad, Macedonia is also a ballad according to those who have heard it. I think Moldova will choose something on the slow side.

hey so who is this board rooting for in portugal, iceland and norway starting this very day so people can bitch about THE CURSED YEAR OMG LOL if conan, hatari and keiino win? i mean, you guys have a confirmation bias to uphold. you need to cover all your bases to keep the year cursed! you can't just ACCEPT an outcome!!!!!!

(this is me preparing myself to attempt to take the high road if conan loses fdc by throwing collective shade rofl

unless it goes to matay because then portugal is cancelled.)

Portugal is hopeless, and so is Iceland, though i want Hatari for the lolz, but it's not a song i would download.

There are 8 acts i care about today. 4 come from :md: (Che-MD & Elizaveta,Siaj,Lemonique,Tinna Gi) 3 from  (Hank von Hell, D'Sound, KEiiNO) and :fi: Superman

So if i'm lucky today, i'll get 3/5

This year is very complicated, also the astrological aspects are complicated. I don't see a frontrunner. Last year, it was so obvious.

It all depends on the staging and on who pulls the bigger trick (or swindle). Televote might cause an outrage this year (Moon in Scorpio and 12th house), figures could be even falsified. Jury vote not much better, corruption and abuse of power (Jupiter square Neptune).

Musically, the favourite of the Grand Final would be a flashily staged song. Larger than life acts and daring like Marija Serifovic, Conchita. But the voting will be worrisome.

All this could lead to a sobered and blander event in 2020, with a trifecta in Capricorn in May 2020.

I'm absolutely in love with Laura Bretan, Aly Ryan/Linus Bruhn, Seemone - would've been 12 points from me

I like a year where it's not certain who will win so "hopefully" Russia won't be that clear of a favorite this year

John winning in :se: would be very disappointing. Concept-wise it's basically a bad, bland version of :at: 2018...

I don't know what to expect from :ru:... A ballad hm? I mean I don't care about Sergey as an artist anyway. Don't like his voice and his way of acting on the stage...

:nl: could pretty much change this years open game, but it could also be a major disappointment like :be:

I'm very curious concerning :ch: somehow

All in all I start to agree on 2019 being a rather weak and disappointing year. And I've never done this before actually. But so far there is only one song which I care about and which I think is the obvious favourite and that's :it:. It's pretty much the #1 of 80% of the fans here and on Youtube

Worry not, a Conan and Hatari victory would be all kinds of super curses from the devil himself on this year for me. ;) knowing my luck those 2 will win and then Keiino will lose to Erland or whatever.

Tumblr, mostly.
I will be satisfied if we get ONE of KEiiNO/Hatari/Conan. Two 'or perish the thought, all three) would be mindblowingly awesome.

Too late for love > Nobody but you, because John 1) Actually appears to have a personality beyond "smug overdog" 2) his act is way more personable than whatever "Nobody but you"'s was supposed to be.

"Too late for love" is way more instant for me than "Nobody but you"; I only started to enjoy this one after his semifinal performance tbh

Posts like these from fellow Austrians make me cringe so hard. "Too late for love" is my most listened song so far of these season, I even listen to it at work. And I can't have these jealousy exuding comments at all. I hope John wins, and only John and no one else. And honestly, it rather sounds like an upgraded version of "Nobody but you". Lyrics are a bit basic, but musically it has much more impact and is extremely enjoyable.
