You believe it or not I never heard of HalfTime shows before!

Really? You're kidding! Actually in the last years this one is my favourite:

CANADA will finally broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest on TV [channel: OMNI]!

Happy #100DaysToEurovision! OMNI is excited to be bringing the #EurovisionSongContest to our viewers this year! 13 acts have already been announced, and several more countries have started their national selections… It is now just 100 days to the Grand Final in Tel Aviv!

The Omni television news is huge news for Eurovision in Canada! Almost every television set in Canada has Omni, unlike LogoTV, meaning Eurovision can spread farther than ever!

I do find it a little weird however, that the Chinese-language TV station is choosing to air Eurovision, but I can't complain!

Oh God, I am so freaking happy that OMNI is showing the 2019 contest here! I hope they'll be showing it live like in Europe!

I know it's early days but I've got the feeling that this edition won't be as strong as last year (2018 was amazing), and therefore I can't stop thinking about some entries last year which could've done significantly better this year if my theory is correct

Thinking the same! Last year I had so many songs loving, whereas this year is so far a huge failure for me. But nevertheless even though my faves didn't make it so far, I love listening to them beyond ESC-time. :D So sadness and happiness reach each other their hands. Still I hope that at least I will find ONE entry that I can burn for. That way ESC is much more fun.

I think that if you got top 15 last year, it's a good result lol - like Lithuania, Bulgaria and Norway (although I'm not very fond of our entry last year) were genuinely strong entries I believe should be happy with top 15 - although I'm still a bitter pig that Bulgaria didn't get better staging........ anyway many songs emerged during the rehearsals last year like Cyprus and Germany so this might happen with many songs this year as well hopefully :D

I am hoping it very much. And you are right about the staging, it's a relevant part as well. Maybe within time I will start to like the one or other song. Sometimes I need a bit more time to get into song. And btw., I was one of the few who liked Rybak's entry last year.

I get that people say this NF season or the picked songs so far result in one of the worse ESC years, but having said that I have never seen so much drama happening within the past years. Yes there was, Spain and Germany especially included, or Romania dropped. But looking at Italy, France, Romania, all the countries moving their releases further into march, Moldova cutting to one finale etc. I feel like this is a provocative season: People jumping on stage, Hatari being quite .. yeah... different.

I dont necessarily see this a bad thing, but I have a strange feeling on this season: So many alternative sounds coming together (probably). Its going to be exciting, but if I imagine my grandparents or parents watch Eurovision, having songs like Mahmood, Raiven (Slovenia), Hatari (Iceland) and Conan (Portugal) would put them off I expect. If they win, we dont know yet, but yeah .. just wanted to spill that somewhere.

Tumblr, mostly.
I have to disagree with a lot of the opinions here. I thought 2018 was 'just okay' and way too safe on the song quality side. 2019 looks like it's shaping up to be highly experimental, uptempo and daring, and that's more up my alley than 2018's smorgasbord of safe, sanitised (but secretly shit) pop.

Also we only know eight songs RELAX ya bunch of eeyores.

I wonder - is it just me who feels desperate when many NFs are taking place on a day? Like this Saturday:

Hungary - A Dal Semi-Final
Portugal - Festival da Canção Semi-Final 1
Sweden - Melodifestivalen Semi-Final 3
Slovenia - EMA Final

I want to watch all of them … and have to decide between them … xgaah

Next Saturday will be crazy: the ones you mentioned + Estonia (final), Ukraine, Lithuania, Croatia (final), Latvia (final), Iceland... That should be prohibited for the sake of eurofans

I've been rewatching some 2009 clips and just thought about how the stage 10 years ago would still look way before it's time today

Welcome to national finals season! I've been juggling 3 to 4 streams at once on Saturday evenings for years now. You'll get used to it. :)
