Tiden er gået i stå

Du er kvinden, jeg еr manden
Hele gulvet er gået fra forstanden
La' os øve på hinanden

Tiden er gået i stå

Just re-watched some of the performances on the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix youtube page, actually between the 3 that got into the super-final, I would have preferred Jean Michel winning it. Although the song is super beige and basic, but the staging and the lightings are simple and effective. Elevating the song for me.

I am so pissed that Emma who basically has the most potential song screwed up her staging with such a basic and non-existent one. Her staging should have included the laser lights and should be moodier/darker (ie. blue/purple/pink). That would have fit with the 80's synth sound and the mood. Such a waste.

Actually, I really like Cosmic Twins' staging at the end where the fireworks came. How aptly appropriate for the song.

horrible. nothing works about this. It sounds like it would be a submission for 1988 and even then it would've sounded old-fashioned. I don't get the funny part either.
There was a song once in Eurovision that was called "The 80s coming back" and if you're curious how this will fare I think it could be the same outcome.
On the other ESC-related forum there are a couple of people who genuinely see it as a sure Q. LMAO. If it qualifies I will eat a lemon and put it on youtube. :D

Btw. I don't hate it. It is not strong but it feels genuine and upbeat. I'm low-key enjoying it, but it's still near the bottom of my ranking. Denmark have had their share of entries that I detested but it isn't one.

In the swimming pool, always stayin' cool
Will be hard for them to qualify yeah... but i do think they have a bit of a chance imo.

I mean, the majority who'll like the song in the fandom will like it more as a guilty pleasure. It's kitschy, cheesy, outdated, whatever.
But what about the average audience ? For them, Fyr og Flamme will definitely stand out in the SF since they'll be the only ones in their league.

I see a lot of people saying "it sounds like a song from 1986"... That's the point : they did a song from 1986 in 2021.
Not a song inspired by the 80's, but a GENUINE song from the 80's, with the whole package.
And i really think that they're playing it at first degree, it doesn't sound like a sort of parody.

Definite NQ, ey ? I wouldn't speak too fast.

I have listened to Estonia and Denmark back to back and I have to suggest, that the singer urgently takes singing lessons. Their studio version sounds poorer than Estonia's live.

I think Denmark should qualify easily but those vocals could be their dealbreaker.

I don't think I dislike this as much as I initially did last night, but still not a massive fan.

There's parts of it that are interesting but even so it's not enough.

I may be a minority, but I really love this old-fashioned song. Jesper is adorable btw.
You are not, and yes, he is! He is quite famous here in Denmark for his acting as well.

I think this song is going to be a grower. I didn't like it at first either but I really enjoy it now.

This is so painfully retro. I'm trying desperately to love it, but the questionable live vocal and the fact that it sounds like it's from a dodgy cabaret show in Lloret de Mar during the late 1980s is making it difficult for me to attach myself to it.

The intro promises much more than the overall song can give tbh. Just loop the intro and have the singer stomping up and down the stage for 3 minutes straight, and maybe then I can throw some points Denmark's way

Okay, so as nobody else has failed to mention, it's straight out of the late 80s Eurovision, language, staging and all - including its utter mediocrity. It would sort of work if they managed to sell it, but they don't. I see a NQ coming here, unless they actually manage to get a lot more charisma that they don't seem to have here, so this could very well come last a la Iceland's "Our Choice", plus the Danish makes it even worse.

I quite like it. Non competitive, but it's a nice addition to the SF, where it will stay. 6pts
