Re: DENMARK 2012

Just read today that international juries consisting of members from Azerbaijan, Germany, Norway, and Russia (the past 4 year's ESC-winners) will decide 50% of the voting this year.

It's actually a pretty good idea I think. They've been doing the same in Melodifestivalen for quite some time, so I think it's a good attempt to try to come in touch with what Europe could possibly like.

But never trust it I would say.
We had the same in Belgium in 2006 with also 3 or 4 juries and they all chose Kate Ryan
and you know what happened:p

I don't like the idea and I certainly don't think it's good to copy us with that one.

Re: DENMARK 2012

^
Well I wouldn't say it has, we've tried it for a couple of years now (last year even no regional juries, just international) and well last year was our first ESC success in years, but that song would have won even without the "help" of international juries, as a matter of fact with just the international jury points it was just like 2p ahead of the runner-up, so honestly I don't see the point.

Actually I think these juries might even be biased because they represent other countries and therefor doesn't want competition = choses weaker entries.

And I don't like the idea either... It is Dansk Melodi Grand Prix not international grand prix because if it was why not just let this forum decide the Danish entry?...

Drama about song no. 2 AGAIN:

http://www.dr.dk/Nyheder/Kultur/2012/01/0107164221.htm

Apperently they have already put the song on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter by the songwriter team themselves in July last year (which is illigal if I remember correctly).. :p

At the end, their entry will be the only song, who won´t be disqualified ^^

Re: DENMARK 2012

Isa Melikov - the man who gave us Aysel and El & Nikki, the owner of the biggest record company in AZ, a songwriter (working for Belarusian and Azeri NFs this year).

Dilyara Qazymova - the band member of Unformal/Milk & Kisses (former Azeri NF participants), Azeri equivalent of Alyosha.

Lera Masskva and Anna Kulikova - so so (and not really famous in Russia) singers.

Mario Durand - talented singer/violin player, recorded a song with Dalai Lama.

Yuriy Medyanik - Ukrainian/Russian multi-instrumentalist.

Very diverse teams, I really like Norwegian and Azeri juries.

There are some famous names in the juries, indeed. However, I insist on saying the danes themselves should chose their representative.

Re: DENMARK 2012

+ wondering if people who used to work on songs for other NFs will be fair here.

30 seconds of each song can be heard right here:

I looooooove Suriya, it's the only song that really stands out to me, and brings a breath of fresh air to the line-up which seems mainly to consist of bland pop/rock as usual.

Overall I'm not positively overwhelmed so I'm crossing my fingers for Suriya to win this, even if she has the odds against her.

Re: DENMARK 2012

as for Suriya - such kind of music died one year ago here. It's anything but fresh, imo. Cheesy vocals and dubstep... for teh lulz xcheer1 Though it's good for ESC, it needs something modern like this but if it sounds "modern" it doesn't mean that the song is gr8.

Overall - miles better than last year. It's hard for me to choose just 1 entry. If you talk about songs this MGP is better than any other NF so far.

Considering ESC is like 10 years behind trends, even something that sounds 5 years old would be modern enough for ESC.
