Re: DENMARK 2012

No thanks!

At least if they do send a drag act, they can try and send a good one. This is in the same horrid league as Slovenia 2002.

Yeah, DQ's vocals were pretty bad, but I like seeing stuff like this on ESC. Shows the open-mindedness of a country. ;)

Re: DENMARK 2012

I want something GOOD for a change. I had it with these middle-of the road dated songs Denmark is sending each year.

I know our neighbors can do SO MUCH better! The success of the Danish entries lately say everything about the juries' meh taste.

I want something modern and in Danish, something like Medina or Rasmus Seebach or whoever. Just as with Sweden, the songs Denmark send to Eurovision does not represent their actual contemporary music. I think it's time for an entry that actually does!

Here's the new video by Medina to give an example of what popular contemporary Danish music actually sounds like. Something like this in 2012, bring it on!

Medina is quite famous here in Germany... I´d like to see her in Eurovision for Denmark 2012 or in a few years.

Re: DENMARK 2012

They have tons of bands and singers that produce phenomenal music, much better than whats been in their NF the last few years. But even so I have enjoyed the NF's nonetheless. Can't wait to see what the Danes come up with next!

Re: DENMARK 2012

I like the "Medina" idea. Her song "You and I" was extremly popular in Bulgaria and if she ends representing Denmark, I see a big promotion of the danish song in Bulgaria which of course gives big chances for bigger points from us :)

Stop dreaming about Medina (and please Medina stay outside with your crappy pop music)... She really doesn't need the ESC hype as you guys wrote yourself, she is already popular in your countries... And as I said before, mainstream artists in Denmark never participat in the DMGP, :)

We already know this? But we can still dream right?

And her "crappy music" (as u call it) is miles better than the middle of the road dated stuff we hear each year in Danish MGP (sorry to say).

Haha OA could be funny and with the right promotion to young people where they have a lot of fans they could win but I really doubt they would participate or that DR would let them in :D

That's your opinion. I'm not too fond of our own MF either, but I do think it's better than the Danish one though. I was referring to their choices though, they do sometime have good options in their selection, but they tend to go for the safe sort of dated stuff.

I am not sure how the Swedish selection got to do with this thread though but okay...

Re: DENMARK 2012

^I don't get how can you say such things when MF is also diverse (and no, I don't think it's a bad thing xshrug ) and a lot of different genres, performers compete there.

I don't think that MGP is more different and dated. Like "dated" (in your opinion) is something bad, like it's all dated in MGP. I don't think so. Now it's more clear?

I'm not sure if I got you, anyhow my favorite selection is the Estonian one, now THAT one has some pretty interesting stuff barely seen in any of the other selections.

As for dated I can just base that on what's currently on the charts, radio and clubs. I guess that's what I mean with "dated" when it sounds like something not representable of what is actually current in the countries (or elsewhere for that matter), but rather sound like something decade-old.

Anyway, I think that charts/radio/clubs have no idea about what really represents the country. Anyone should have an opportunity to participate.
Btw, every year we have few people in MGP from Danish charts. I don't think that MGP is filled with "dated" entries.

Such big and internationally recognized performers like Medina will not agree unless it brings them profit. ESC is too risky, it's almost impossible for popular performers to spend so much time and then finish outside of top 5 or contract obligations or having tours/other projects etc... the chances to see really big names in the NF are always small and it will always be like that.
