Re: DENMARK 2012

Considering ESC is like 10 years behind trends, even something that sounds 5 years old would be modern enough for ESC.
Exactly my point.
Though I don't care if it's modern or not. If it stands out it doesn't mean that it's good.

True, but Denmark has been playing way too safe at most times, it's getting boring.

I agree here as well. Usually they don't choose my faves and choose something "safe" indeed.
ps. But this NF is better than their previous selections imo.

They tend to do it, I often like some songs in their selections, but they have a very characteristic voting pattern it seems, follow almost the same formula each year.

@Aleks
I know Suriya doesn't bring anything new to the table if we talk music in general, but in ESC-context it hasn't been seen before. Its winning-chances are below zero though, so I'm not expecting too much.

+1
That is exactly what I hope the international jury could put an end to this year. I know they haven't really worked out that successfully in Sweden but I do think that an international jury can be less beneficial for the plain and safe songs. The main group of danish DMGP- and ESC-viewers are usually around 30-40 years old, and they like it "safe", so totally opposed to you guys, I think an international jury is a great idea to prevent the usual DMGP voting-patterns.

Oh, and after having heard all songs I can confirm that I will almost 100% find the winner bland and unoriginal. Not that originality is necessarily a great thing but pretty much all these songs lacks something...there's a lot of harmless radio-pop which simply isn't my cup of tea.

"ESC context" is the last thing that I care about because I rate songs, not ESC history or how will it fit the usual ESC style (if such thing exists at all) ))) As for ESC fans like us, I believe that any song (if it's not a total disaster) has a chance.
Miracles happen - in 2010 we voted for the whole week before live performances. Alyosha had just 5 votes (lol!), in the 1st 2 minutes after performance she's got 50 000. She had the lowest chances out of 20 performers so I wouldn't be so sure about Suriya + her song is not bad after all, esp comparing to other NF entries ;)

ps. Your international juries. I think that the majority won't be fond of such music. I bet they will choose something with "live" instruments.

Re: DENMARK 2012

I have 3 favourites: Kenneth Potempa, Phillip & Emilia and Aya. If one of them is winner, Denmark will be one of my favourites this year :)

Denmark has really nice songs! I'm glad I do not live in Denmark. Otherwise I would not have any idea for who to vote for. Probably live programme shows the best performance ;)

Re: DENMARK 2012

It's so sad that they had to disqualify "Nowhere", because it would definitely be my favourite in DMGP.

Other than "Nowhere", I also like "Venter", "Universe", "Should've known better", "Take our hearts" and "Overflow". I have to listen to them a couple of more times to really decide which one I prefer. So far I love "Venter" the most. :D

Re: DENMARK 2012

Great selection! My favourites are Christian Brøns & Patrik Isaksson, Jesper Nohrstedt, Aya, Ditte Marie and Kenneth Potempa (that's half of them ) . Must say that I don't really dislike any of the songs (and that's a rare thing, lol!).

Does anyone know whether it will be broadcast through the internet somewhere? Would love to watch it this Saturday!

Yep. There will be a webcast. At least @broadcaster's site.

Thanks AlekS! Hope it won't be restricted to Danish viewers only, keeping my fingers crossed!

And surprise surprise I don't like Denmark once again..."Venter" is decent, but overall I have never really liked a danish entry since 06...so it will be in 2012 too. :(
