Bleehhhh. Song goes absolutely nowhere. Czechs are looking at an NQ without a decent revamp. A real shame that their best ever result would be followed by this mediocrity the year after.

Its the worst so far for me but still it will qualify i believe since some people love that kind of music. I expect mostly young people to like it but it needs good staging like last year!

When I listened to the snippet before deciding to wait for the official Eurovision CD to listen to all songs, I actually thought that it's quite en vogue and catchy. I would have loved to see "True Colours" win but oh well, I can live with this decision.. just happy that Malawi had the power to prevent "Space Sushi" from winning this NF. Can't believe this utter trash ended up being #2 in the end Oo

Tumblr, mostly.
Bold words, considering the last two winners went viral before they won...

This would have also counted if Jakub Ondra won. Like, he was the only one with a music video BEFORE the competition (and before getting a new video from ESC Czech Republic's Youtube channel), just like Mikolas was. Right?

And in case of Jakub it's not even that he is some sort of super popular celebrity, but he got the support of some of the most popular Youtubers and Instagram people. Kazma is uber popular prankster who said he would be on stage in Tel Aviv with Jakub, dressed as a giant sushi roll if Jakub won. This was also reported in several tabloids.

I have to say that I lost a lot of my illusions about Jakub Ondra during the past few weeks. And not only due to his his faustian pact with Kazma. There were some other morally questionable moments in his "campaign":

- In every single interview, Jakub felt urge to say that he invested almost all his money to production of Space Sushi ("for you all"), implying that we all have to be grateful and vote for him in order to make it a good investment.
- Even before Space Sushi was released, he already called it "a sure hit" in interviews. Pretty arrogant.
- He removed every criticising comment from his Instagram posts and (according to others) from Facebook as well.
- During the ČT's busking session, he revealed that song "On the Menu" (by far his biggest hit) was actually co-written by Mikolas Josef. He's not credited in the video description, Jakub never mentioned him in interviews about the song and he enjoyed the aura of "genial boy from the street who single-handedly wrote a hit" for like four years since the song was released. Then suddenly, when he felt like Mikolas' name could bring him some more votes...

So, although I don't really mind Space Sushi itself, all this opened my eyes on what kind of person Jakub Ondra is. I don't feel much sympathies for him right now.

I preferred Mochova's ''True Colours'' but this one was my 2nd favourite so I guess it's not bad at all that Lake Malawi won.

I'm also disappointed to read this. I had already noticed in some interviews that Jakub is quite self-confident. And about ignoring Mikolas in "On The Menu" credits: the life can be just few times. See where Mikolas is and where Jakub is currently.

Easy listening tune for commercial pop radio. Good but not excited about it. 7 pts

This was my preferred winner for the NF (barely edging out True Colours), though nothing here really excited me all that much. I don't think it'll pull a Poland 2018 (which was my favourite in the NF but ended up last-place in my ESC rankings for the year), but it might come close.

There's a lot for me to like here – the retro synth vibes, the overall composition and vocals, and the weird chords before the chorus are all up my alley. But on the other hand, the chorus has pretty basic melodies, there's not really any development (once you've heard the first chorus, you've pretty much heard it all), and the spoken word parts just don't work for me (especially the female vocalist's). 5 points for now.

For first-time listeners, it will be nice on the stage at Eurovision. But for myself, it sounds cheesy already.

I have only listened to the song once, but couldn't get it out of my head for about two days afterwards. Great choice, in that regard. ;)

This entry grew on me a lot since it was announced as the winner of the Czech NF. Would've been better to have Barbora competing instead, but I'll upgrade it from :0: to :8: I guess. :)
