The chorus is still the best part for me. The dance break isn't great music. And before that the lyrics in the verse and bridge to the chorus have a kind of rhyming which can annoy. This is how lyrics can contribute to undermining music, unlike the great Iru song last year.

Kontopoulos definitely did much better with Last Dance, Sugar and X My Heart.

The dance break doesn't even allow an opportunity for good choreo, it's just spastic beats and fake cheering. That performance wasn't terrible tbh. She's not giving as much Junior Eurovision than I thought she would. Just drown her out with the pre recorded vocals, if they get the mixing right with the live and pre recorded vocals and she dances her ass off she will qualify

people are praising this on twitter but I still think it has 0 chance. it's so soulless. it's one of the most soulless packages at Eurovision in a while.

If Tamta barely qualified with the televoters and she had Greece, San Marino, Israel and Georgia in the semi, I struggle to see how this will do better than Tamta, who's imo really charismatic even though not much of a dancer.

Tamta was in a much harder semi tho. Semi 1 this year is unusually weak, especially the second half... not a single competitive entry there
So I think she will make it through

That semi had Serhat, D-mol, Darude, Oto and that unfortunate performance from Eliot. I wouldn't call that strong

I also disagree that this semi is weak. It's not strong but also not weak. First half is one of the hardest halves ever.

Had Cyprus been in the 2nd half, I'd be more confident. But in the 1st half 5 countries are surely q. (lithuania, ukraine, poland, croatia, serbia) with Ireland being borderline.

There's no way all 7 songs from first half will qualify, even 6 rarely happens, so Cyprus is most likely out.

2nd half we have good songs from Slovenia and Portugal. Lux. is safe as well, Finland unfortunately as well.

And we can still see Australia qualify.

Croatia, Ukraine, Lithuania and Serbia yes, but apart from those 4, everything else is a filler entry in this semi. Cant see how Poland is a safe qualifier. And Slovenia/Portugal are being considered likely qualifiers thanks to favorable draws, both of these songs would have been dead in the water in slot #2 or #3rd in a stronger semi, and the same goes for every entry in that second half

The music video is really funny . . . but I hope her stage performance isn't played as comedy or it will definitely count against her. But once I ignored the hystrionics and just listened, I think this is actually the catchiest ESC2024 song I've heard so far.

But even so, TBH, the "bad boyfriend" theme was done better by Freya Skye's Lose My Head in 2022 (despite her being 4 years younger than Silia!)

Anyway watching the dancing baggage handlers I now know why my luggage never turned up at Larnaca Airport.:p

It looked good in Amsterdam, it sounded good in Amsterdam, but there is still just no song. A great performance goes a long way though and they seem to be on track with that.
