Re: Creating new contest on the forum

I have suggested - is to accept or not. I meant equal rights to participation in the contest (without limitation)

You know that you can not separate the contest creation and the contest itself. Otherwise you have a situation where you create 1 thing, then have people join the contest and immediately change the contest rules to what they want anyways. Or you always have the option to play dictator and say that the contest rules can not be ever changed, but that is bad for quite obvious reasons.

In this topic: We're talking about creating rules on the basis of this contest (That I propose, each has to offer), rather than creating an entirely new contenst

I'm still rooting for individual players. big juries already exist in fsc, RoW issue will probably be resolved soon and I don't see the point for more juries.
and yes, same can be said for nsc and individual players but I strongly believe that big majority would rather go with individual game play.

So you're saying that we are talking here about creating a fsc spinoff? Or what is it supposed to be if it isn't a new contest?

I am kinda indifferent about it. I mean I would not join a big language jury anyway so for me it does not make any difference. However I see no strong reason to stop other people from joining big language juries if they think it is good for them.

Language Contest can also be FSC or NSC spinoff

No because you create a whole new concept. FSC and NSC are based on countries, while a LSC is based on languages :).

The concept you propose is the basic concept used in a FSC spin-off. It has no 'original' value. Therefore, I personally can't imagine why there is a need to create such a contest in order to avoid WL or RoW, cause in those spin-offs, there is no RoW or a WL :). You can choose whatever country you want, songs can be from any year AND you can switch every month to another country.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Rules "ForumVision" (working title)
1. You can select any country to participate, Nigeria or Argentina, Brazil or Japan, no matter where you live NOT FSC
2. You can select a song from any period of time (except Eurovision) 1903 or 1960 or 2012 NOT FSC
3. You can change the country that you will represent, but you must stay in the jury of one country for at least 3 months NOT FSC
4. The winner will be able to organize the next contest, if the winner refuses - the right moves to second place (3rd, 4ts etc) NOT FSC
5. Unlimited number of countries participating, if more than 30 countries will be set up semi-final NOT FSC

This is enough to create a new of the contest

Wait didn't you say 5 minutes ago that you do not want to create a new contest? Make up your mind!

I didn't say it was FSC, these rules are the FSC spin-off rules, with the exception of #4. So it's not a very original contest and it already exist --> FSC Spin-off

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

If will choose one of contests, I'm the 3rd time in the last two days I see discrimination on the forum

1. ROW (against new countries)
2. WL (against new members)

I would like to see how you're gonna handle your new contest in a non "discriminating" way when it reaches like 100 participants :p

In number 3 you should change "can" to "must" if my rule comes into play.
Number 4 is just like NSC

Agree, if the new contest becomes too big, a limit will have to be imposed. Otherwise, it would make the host's job a pain in the ass.

A lot of people already have a difficult time with listening to all songs so we need to have a cap. While I understand some have the time, a lot of people have jobs or family and we need to accomodate them as well.
FSC is created, it is a game that is supposed to be a game that does not require much effort from the part of the player, 1 vote, 1 show.

New contest NOT, there will not be 1 vote and 1 show like in FSC. This game is for entertainment and leisure. This game is based on principles other than FSC, and therefore can not compare them. Yes, the similarities between them, because they are based on the country, so what?

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Well every contest has it's limits and if that new contest gets full, it is only sensible to make a 4th contest.

In this case, simply make more semi-finals and big final of a time in two months, for example, like in the 21st Century

It's not, because every FSC Spin-off has some theme. For example, this month you must send songs in French langauge.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Ok, we have approximately 200 countries around (don't think, but)

1-30 - only the final
31-50 - a semi-final
51-90 - two semi-finals
91-120 - 3 semi-final (extension from 3 to 5 weeks)
121-150 - 4 semi-final (extension from 5 to 6 weeks)
151-180 - 5 semifinals (expansion from 6 to 7 weeks)
more than 180 - (expandable up to 2 months)

That's why I'm trying to say that mods should prepare new contests.

If there will be 4 mods, one can prepare one semifinal, second one can prepare second semifinal, third can prepare results, and fourth can do something else. :D
