Re: Creating new contest on the forum

You know that it is slightly weird to start with a poll which is about how should the jury system work when there isn't even the general idea decided. The general idea should be decided by a poll 1st and then you can get to details like how exactly the juries should work. (And as it is now I would vote no on that wording simply due to involving the word country while the idea by itself sounds to be quite decent and I could consider voting yes for it if it would have more ambiguous wording)

I can do that, when I get the approval from Reggie, and after more people decide to do polls.
We talked about it with Reggie yesterday. So created. Due to the fact that one topic we are discussing many things here a mess, and lost the thread of the question.
Go to this subsection Creating new contest on the forum

In any case, the rotation of the jury will be discussed, because if it is language contest, the same Croatian jury will have more than 3 members

You're still gonna press on the language contest instead of the country one? I can add the word "language" after the word "country", but it wouldn't change the general idea of the rule.

Rules "ForumVision" (working title)
1. You can select any country to participate, Nigeria or Argentina, Brazil or Japan, no matter where you live
2. You can select a song from any period of time (except Eurovision) 1903 or 1960 or 2012
3. You can change the country that you will represent, but you must stay in the jury of one country for at least 3 months
4. The winner will be able to organize the next contest, if the winner refuses - the right moves to second place (3rd, 4ts etc)
5. Unlimited number of countries participating, if more than 30 countries will be set up semi-final

Discussed rules:
1. Rotation of the jury
2. The song is at least 50% in the native language

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

The rule for "rotating juries":
a) A country's jury can have up to 3 members.
b) Members of a specific jury must stay in that jury for 3 months.
c) After 3 months has passed, they have to leave the specific jury.
d) They will be replaced by other 3 people willing to join the specific jury.
e) If there are no candidates for joining the jury, the current jury can stay for the next 3 months.
f) After next 3 months, repeat the procedure.
g) If, after being relegated from their favorite jury, after 3 months there will be no new candidates, the "old" ones can freely re-enter their favorite jury, but they cannot as long as there are new candidates.

Advantages:

a) No overcrowded juries, and all the advantages that come with it, for example easier time in deciding which songs to send.
b) Diversity in the juries, so at the same time, diversity in songs.
c) People, who will not be able to join their favorite jury for the time being, will have to choose another country, which might have not been chosen if it wasn't for rotating, this would mean more unique songs to listen to.

Disadvantage:

a) You cannot be in your favorite jury all the time.

I can agree with this, but this one disadvantage is a problem, because we will again have waiting lists.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

I'm probably one of the few here that absolutely don't mind that the new game(s) will look like an FSC rip-off. I really don't mind. It will still be a separate contest.

Great Mozz ! xbow Me too ! :D

I don't understand why we MUST invent something totally different what makes this game worse. :?

You can select another country and participate in the contest on equal rights with others. And WL may participate only in a separate contest

I want the competition will most similar to Eurovision. This forum is primarily about the Eurovision. If someone wants to Language Contest - go to Language Threads

Just to clarify - I'm not against the language contest. I'd still take part whether it is a language contest or a country contest.

You think that people will be that desperate to join one specific jury? I know I'm not gonna be.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

I will not participate in the Language Contest, but if I participated, there would be only in Spanish or Portuguese jury. And ForumVision I will have more choice than 2, and 24 (Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Western Sahara, Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru , Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Brazil, Portugal)

And there he goes again with the "main rule" - there are no main rules yet! Everything is up to debate as of now.

if you use instead of country the phrase country language it doesn't really make any sense. You should just remove all references to country and keep it simply jury.
