Re: Creating new contest on the forum

And also I have an idea about the national finals. They should be open, and to vote in them all can be (as in Melodifestivalen - national and international jury)
What about this?

If people'd like to have open nf, they can do that ofc :)

No, if you become a member of the jury of the United States, you must "work out" at least 3 (or 6) months  Otherwise you will be in USA jury in September, in Polish in October, in Ukranian in Nobember etc. - will be great mess every month

But then we can not participate for more than 4/2 countries in a year :/ How about at least 2 months?

If I've read this thread correctly, Sweden and the USA will win every month*

*assuming the schedule is a month. A 3-week schedule would work best with semi finals. Or I guess you could have 2 weeks confirmation time.

So it will be a country thing? Like FSC?
It would be good to have a contest like FSC, but... with the rules that we may choose a song from ANY TIME, not only the new ones.

Completely agree!I want to choose songs from any time!

Anyway, what about confirming of participations? That all members who wanna participate write that and for which country?

Imo,we need 20 countries to start and then we will get that number higher and higher, and then I would like to see semifinals, too ;)

Also: if the country wins the contest, to the jury of this country have the right to organize the next. In FSC only Mods can do it, I do not know how in the NSC. If the jury rejected, then it makes some of the Mods.

Yes, but we have to officially start preparate. We need to hear from Matt on this subject (as he proposed the creation of a new contest)

In NSC the winner earns the right to host the following edition. If the winner declines, the torch will be passed on to the runner-up and so on. Ideally, this is how any online contest should be driven in my eyes and so should the new one (imo at least).

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

I will be helping out/supervise the formation of the new contest. I will do my best in helping you guys out in forming this new contest.

Well, mostly, I will help in the logistical and mod side of things. The concept of the game is all up to you. I won't meddle with that, as long as you guys have a consensus on what type of song contest you guys want, then it's all cool :)

So, once we get this whole thing finalized, then things will be smooth going. As for organizing and responsibilities, we will figure that out when the specifics become finalized.

I will let Matt know ASAP about the specifics of the creation plans.

I agree with you, but I think if the winner declines, contest must be host by one of Mods, not runner-up (imo too)

Why? The runner up makes more sense imo, and why would we give the mod tons of work every time?
