Re: Proof that Azerbaijan cheats in Eurovision voting

Why exactly do youtube videos matter? Most people watch and hear the songs for the first time during the Semi/Final show, so I do not think one song having more views than the other has any influence on anything whatsoever...

What would matter though would be if anyone was buying their youtube views. Thats cheating and shouldn't sit well with anyone. If any country were found out to be doing this, I think it would just be disgracefully embarrassing.

Again i'll point out there's no proof of this going on with Azerbaijan. It's just speculation. As I said before, recently major record labels were exposed for this practice.

Don't worry we have enough money, if it is about fee.

In my opinion it would be fine to switch Germany's spot with Azerbaijan. I would say go for it but it will take several years for our broadcasters to even consider this, sadly.

I see only one way of this thread:

a) people who didn't liked Azerbaijan entry will accuse it for cheating
b) people who liked Azerbaijan entry will defend Azerbaijan because think that 2nd place deserved.

In my opinion is better to have only public vote not jury , because it ‘s easy to make arrangements between countries if there is a jury.

You should add:
c) people who maybe not always like the Azeri entries but still wan't to defend a thing until its proven wrong.

Re: Proof that Azerbaijan cheats in Eurovision voting

I'm very worried about :bg: giving :az: 12 points both in 2010 & 2013, and 10 points in 2012. Weirdest thing is we didn't give any points to them in 2011, but I still can't believe their songs would be so popular here.

Bulgarian jury explained that they really liked this song and I know many people that voted for it as well without being stimulated. I was one of them and honestly I want someone to tell me where to find these Azeris throwing money and searching people to vote for them. I would have been in their voting rigging team with pleasure :D
Obviously there are people which still cannot accept the fact that Azerbaijan is the most successful country in Eurovision since the introduction of semis and they deserve their good results with the effort they put.

There is really almost Nazi attitude from the West towards the East and that makes me sick...
Eastern countries are guilty for all bad in Eurovision according those people. But not Bulgaria and Greece excahnged 12 points last night, but Belgium and Netherlands and the Noridcs as well. But that's not problem - let's bash the Eastern countries for all bad in the world.

Why would that be cheating and/or disgrace? Youtube has nothing to do with the actual Eurovision show and voting... Therefore even if Azerbaijan paid someone to boost their view count it would have no influence on absolutely anything, especially the results... So I really do not see why that would be considered cheating?

When I watched the video on YouTube of all the countries, I did not even pay attention to the amount of viewing. Especially because all the videos were uploaded at different times.

This is outrageous!

Azerbaijan should be banned from Eurovision until this corrupt government of theirs gets replaced. This year they were also searching for people who voted for Armenia just like in the previous years. IMO, all these corrupt dictatorships like Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus should be kicked out ASAP. Or even better, just let only EU/Schengen countries into Eurovision. This contest is supposed to promote the European tradition of freedom and democracy, these countries ruin it!

Coming back to Azerbaijan alone, they really need to stop their anti-Armenian fetish, ESC is not a place to spread hate for pity's sake! It seems that EBU is just as corrupt as the Azerbaijani government if they STILL let them participate after all these incidents.

It's not the Azeri people that should be punished, it's the government. In fact, I think individual Azeris active in ESC and music in general should get extra support for getting into communication with others in Europe. EBU should step by step tighten the demands for basic rights and slowly rise the standard, without losing participants like Belarus and Azerbaijan. I don't know enough about Azerbaijan to have any specific thoughts about it though.

Any country is welcome to put a lot of effort and money in creating "perfect" – eurovision entries. I'm not sayin I like it but as long as this goes for everyone we couldn't blame Azerbaijan for engaging a lot in their entries. If Sweden would do the same, let some hotheads from the music industries pick performers and songs, very tactic, I think we could also do great year after year.

If you are unhappy - you should start changing the system.

Because it's something thats not allowed on the site. People caught using viewing bots are suspend from youtube. It's essentially the same as buying votes in a contest. You are buying "popularity". You are buying views. You are deceiving people. It's quite possibly one of the saddest, most pathetic things someone can do.

If any country were to do this, i'd dread to imagine what lengths they would go to in the contest to get points. [again i'll stress this is speculation. no proof]

Yes, although Melodifestivalen is effectively stopping any obvious smart moves. They always get punished real hard.

People seem to forget that this thread is about Malta and Lithuania giving 12 points to Azerbaijan, not anything else.
