Oh pish-posh! Spending money on promotional CDs and hosting "national" parties in the host city is "buying popularity" much much more than buying views on YouTube which count for nothing because 90% of people who watch Eurovision don't even watch the performances on YT before the songs are already performed... You can just count everything in the "buying votes" category... Did someone perform at another countries National Final? Well he must be buying their votes... Did a delegation host a party for the press? Well, if that isn't buying popularity I don't know what is... See where I am going?
Because it's something thats not allowed on the site. People caught using viewing bots are suspend from youtube. It's essentially the same as buying votes in a contest. You are buying "popularity". You are buying views. You are deceiving people. It's quite possibly one of the saddest, most pathetic things someone can do.
If any country were to do this, i'd dread to imagine what lengths they would go to in the contest to get points. [again i'll stress this is speculation. no proof]
