This year had an exciting voting, but I would like to have a year when no country is favourite to win (although years when no country is favourite it ends up with terrible songs winning such as 2008 and 2011)

Azerbaijan admits cheating and EBU will not do anything about it.

Azerbajdzjan erkänner röstfusket i Eurovision | Melodifestivalen | Expressen Nöje | Nöjesnyheter Musiknyheter Filmnyheter

I'm still at work, but parhaps someone from Sweden can transelate it. If not, i can do it later. :)

Well, the Expressen article doesn't say much and anybody can get the essence from Google translate. The problem is Expressen cites SVT, but I can't find anything at SVT on the subject. I think we need to wait awhile.

edit:
AFAICU it's pretty much a story around Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov saying they will investigate. There is no revealing of proof or anything. Aggressive tabloid headline though.

A little bit more: :)

Azerbaijan recognizes vote fraud in Eurovision.

Ad: Russia played havoc with Azerbaijan after voting in the Eurovision Song Contest, claiming that they had been blown on points.

Now Azerbaijan sais that the ten points would have gone to Russia - and promises to get to the bottom of the incident.

Voice Mail scandals after another, after the Eurovision Song Contest and it has now become big politics. Shortly after it became clear that Azerbaijan has given Georgia ten points angered Russia.

The country's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called it a "shocking incident" and believed that the country has been blown to the point. At a press conference yesterday gave Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov his colleague right.

- The announcement of Azerbaijani voters that came as a shock to us, says Mammadyarov according to SVT's "Current".

"Robbed of ten points"
It is argued that the ten points really was destined for Russia and that it had messed with the votes in the country. Mammadyarov has promised to go to the bottom of the incident.

The Russian Foreign Minister stands by his opinion:

- We, or rather our students, robbed of ten points. It is disappointing, especially considering that it was a good arrangement in general, says Lavrov at the press conference.

Promoter, the EBU, has no plans to investigate further, according to SVT.

^ When both groups 'jurors' and voters have the song second (as claimed) this isn't possible.

Re: Proof that Azerbaijan cheats in Eurovision voting

I thought there was only one Forbes list!?

There is a flagship Forbes publication in the U.S. that lists billionaires from around the world, and then there are national editions in different countries that do a national list of billionaires, e.g. Forbes Russia, Forbes Turkey, Forbes Brazil, Forbes Israel, etc.

Last news from 12points.tv

[h=4]Continued investigative work from Lithuanian news portal 15min.lt has turned up some more clues into the identity of the two men offering cash for Azerbaijan votes.[/h]
As 12points.tv has been reporting since Sunday, an undercover video was made by Lithuanian journalists after being tipped off by a student that votes were being bought for Azerbaijan. The journalists and the student were told by these two men, one named "Sergei", how they work to buy votes for Eurovision. They mentioned the process they used and how they figured this was being done in 15 countries.
Now 15min.lt have discovered that a BMW 530D was rented for ten days, from 9 to 19 June, and paid . This car was rented by a citizen of the Ukraine. The renters were found after a note of the license plate of the car was taken note of. The name has been taken of the renter, although has not been revealed as of yet. This person paid 2000 Lithuanian litas (around 580€) for the rental.
The student involved in tipping off 15min.lv about the cash-for-votes scheme speculated that these men could be from Belarus based on their conversation, but until now, no link to that country had been verified.
Ukranians entering Lithuania need a visa to enter the country, and must declare how much money they are bringing with them. This fact makes for two purely speculative questions, which 12points.tv is posing:
1. A large amount of cash was shown to the journalists while they were making the video. Was this money claimed when they entered the country?

2. If the renter is from Ukraine, does this have any ties with Euromedia Company, the Kiev-based agency representing the Azerbaijani Eurovision act? Aside from looking after Farid Mammadov from Azerbaijan at Eurovision, their other clients also include the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Azerbaijan. Previous and current clients also include Azerbaijan's 2011 Eurovision winners Eli & Nikki, ESC 2004 Ukranian winner Ruslana, and Safura, who represented Azerbaijan at ESC 2010.

I think this whole 15min.lt story is quite possibly a lie. Still, it's extremely strange how some countries always award Azerbaijan a lot of points, with the obvious example being Malta. There's something fishy there for sure.

Before questioning Maltese votes for Azerbaijan in 2010-2013, please tell me how many countrie did promo-tours to Malta every and each year? How many countries promoted their entries in radios and TVs of Malta every and each year? How many countries and nations spoke positive about Maltese entries and awarded them with some points every and each year? Is there any other country who did the same PR Azerbaijan did in this tiny country? And let's agree that Azerbaijani entries in 2010-2013 were far better than average in the respective years and all four of them made it into TOP 5 and one even won ;)
