I cannot stress enough (which is why I'm double posting) how much ******** this Lithuanian video is. It alleges that two men who spoke Russian (and seemingly only Russian) were sent by Azerbaijan to Lithuania to buy Lithuanian votes by providing Lithuanian students with phones with pre-paid SIM-cards with which to vote for Azerbaijan, for which the students would receive monetary compensation. Let me break down the many problem with this scenario:
* The official language of Azerbaijan is not Russian. It's Azerbaijani. Why would Azerbaijan send Russian-speaking people out to do their bidding unless it was to countries where Russia is a major language?
* Lithuania is not a country where Russian is a major language. Only 5.3% of the Lithuanian population speak Russian. So... Azerbaijan were sending out agents to seek out students who spoke Russian?
* According to the website, these Russian-speaking men had absolutely no problem telling perfect strangers (the undercover reporters) absolutely everything about their dastardly plans, down to what other countries Azerbaijan were allegedly engaging in similar cheating.
* Why would they pay perfect stranger to vote? You can easily vote 20 by SMS in less than 1 minute. The lines were open for 15. Thus, each person can vote 300 times in that time. Why not just send random Azerbaijani people to Lithuania, give them a bunch of phones with prepaid SIM-cards and have them spam-vote for Azerbaijan, cutting out the middle-man?

This is clearly a fake story. Either the website faked it or the alleged Russians faked it. Anyone who thinks this is real is either delusional or desperate to pin anything on Azerbaijan.

Oh, Sweden have a their fair share of fishy things going on aswell

Not the same type of things, but the producers' running-order manipulation, the politicization of ESC and other things are Sweden's "contributions"

Anyways why are you defending them so much btw? xshrug
Because I hate people who lie and/or spread misinformation (either by ignorance or malice). And this thread is full of them.

You know the Swedish idiom "Rätt ska vara rätt" (equivalent to the English idiom "Fair's fair")? I live by it.

Did Azerbaijan cheat? Who knows. But none of the "proof" that's been presented in this thread prove or even come close to proving they did.

It could be fake for sure, but I don't think they are out to look as "Azeris sent to Lithuania", rather local Russian speakers that has been approached by some from the Azeri team to do this in their home country (Lithuania).

You forgot to mention Denmark with the copycat winning song and suspicious 12 points from ex-Yugoslavia countries

Actually, Azerbaijan did get a fine by EBU itself after the blurring scandal, so those allegations are true.

Also, the vote rigging in Malta seems to be pretty accurate tbh...

And the interrogation thing seems so crazy, but it hasn't been proven untrue though xshrug

As for the rest... I dunno... xshrug ... but people are free to speculate...

Actually, I don't think Denmark "bought" their victory... however I do think the producers' (SVT and Björkman along with others from EBU) did in fact favorite them and managed the starting-order to help their "favs".

Iceland 2015 or 2017. You know it's coming.

That's just weirder. Why would Azerbaijan seek out random local Russians to act as agents to find random students to vote for them? That's even worse than "Russians sent by Azerbaijan".

"Fair's fair" is a saying that basically means "Always stand by what is fair and/or what is right." In this case, don't let people who lie and distort the truth get away with it.

Malmö's stage > Finland & Norway
Malmö's hosting > Finland, Norway and Germany
Malmö's production > Finland, Norway and Germany

Actually, that seems more valid than the other way round... for all we know these could be students themselves getting some extra pay-checks...

However, I'm not saying I believe in the video or anything, tbh I have no opinion on it, but if it was true... my bet is that those are locals that have been approached and not Azeris... which imo would be the more logical scenario if it actually is true.

Why Denmark could not buy something but Azerbaijan could? Only because of its corruption rate according to Transparency International? Then screw all ex-USSR, some Balkan countries along with Italy, they all have low-index according to that agency.
