I really want Belgium to go through to the final and finish top 20 at least, not for patriotic reasons but to not have to deal with all the anti-ESC bagger that I will have to scroll past for a whole week otherwise from right-wing party voting boomers complaining on fb news articles that hooverphonic is simply 'too good' for the gay kitsch camp circus crap that is esc and that they should win and that Belgium should stop participating as it was all ruined after the arrival of the communist eastern bloc while no, sorry luc, the song is simply boring and there's a lot of at least good quality music in esc coming from all over Europe. I'm a social-democrat and in my eyes The Wrong Place is the best song this year and if it won't qualify I will be dissapointed also, mostly in the juries, never had much faith in the general public to begin with.

lol no, I don't mind the song either way tbh. I just mind the more local people glorifying it that will inevitable say that ESC is a gay kitsch circus that only has bad things if it doesn't qualify (which might happen realistically, even though I personally would like to see it qualify over for example ) that I don't want to see anywhere as someone who unironically likes, say, Romania 2013.

The people claiming the contest is a gay kitsch circus are the ones that aren't really into it anyway and would claim it to be useless even if Belgium wins.

Definitely a weaker song compared to "Release me" which was outstanding, but they deserve to be in the final. And I hope the juries (at least) will secure that final for them.

Release Me was my personal favorite last year, and Belgium was merely in my top 10 for the whole season until recently. As other songs started growing on me, Belgium faded more and more for me. I would not mind if they weren't in the final in the end.
